Unhappy What's happened to Eiosis?

I've been trying to download an iLok demo version of E2 Deesser from the Eiosis web site. I've got an e-mail to confirm the request, which states that a trial license will be put into my iLok account (within 24 hours). Tried 3 times now over the past week. Sent a message to their support page. PM'd Fabrice Gabriel. Nothing in my iLok account, no reply from Eiosis!

OK accept FG may be busy on Slate VCC, but I'm disappointed that I've had no response at all. Kind of putting me off wanting the product now, which has had such rave reviews over the past year.

Anyone know what's going on, or had the same experience?

There's a serious problem with them for sure.

I bought the vocoder off them a month and a half ago.

Initial email, which was supposed to contain the syncrosoft code had a big blank gap where the code should have been inserted!

So I emailed support, and PM'ed Fabrice directly here. He got straight back to me and emailed me a code through.

I entered the code into my dongle, and was told it was invalid as it had been used before!

So back to Fabrice, who apologised and said this was a Steinberg problem. He'd need to get new codes from them and would have me up and running in a day or two. So in the meantime, I downloaded a months demo code to get me up and running.

We're now 6 weeks down the line, my demo code has expired, and so has any communication with Fabrice - I simply cannot get a reply from him anymore.

Fabrice is now working on all the Slate digital stuff so is probably snowed under with work, but he should still be able to find the time to reply to Eiosis's customers.

I'm now in the process of getting the transaction reversed through my credit card company. If he comes through with a license in the next week I'll take it, but I'm now thinking I should find an alternative product anyway - software from a dead company tends to have a very short life these days without any updating.

Not to rehash the subject, but I requested the ETransienter demo a while back. They said it was deposited to iLok. It wasn't. Took them another 2 weeks to get it there. OK, no worries. Realized I requested the wrong one (iLok version, rather than Synchrosoft... my mistake... again no worries) so, rerequested... no answer. Received a 20% coupon in email. Tried the iLok version on my cheap PT LE setup and liked it, so ready to purchase. Coupon wouldn't work. Sent a request about it, stating I was ready to purchase, and still no reply.

Of all the transient-oriented plugins out there, I feel this is best for what I need, and I love the flexibility. Heck, I'm blown away by ALL their plugins, with the intent of buying them as I need them! BUT, no customer service scares me to DEATH! I'm not trying to say anything bad about the company, but this experience has definitely thrown up red flags. I'm afraid they've lost sales over this... I know I'm looking elsewhere now.

Yeah, I'm having an issue with the EZ-Deesser.

I've emailed them months ago and gotten no reply.

Good product otherwise.

I'm not certain how these dongle makers structure their requirement for payment. if this is a little stiff and sales are low (or) new changes happen in the technology as well, I guess the plug-in developer might start seeing a reducing cost benefit balance..

I hope not, Eiosis make great stuff. I use their Transienter which is great.
I'd also probably choose them for a DeEsser too because of their parallel design.

Eiosis need big ups. they deserve it.

same here. not holding our breath for the '24 hour' turnaround on a demo license and even if, now after reading this thread we're in no hurry to stress about any online purchase.ever.-unacceptable

If you look at the bottom of the Slate Digital homepage you'll notice that Eiosis is now listed as a "Slate Website" - Steven Slate Digital

Would get in touch with SD if you don't hear from Eiosis, after all, FG works there anyway!

They are/were excellent plug-ins, I hope they are maintained somehow going forward, even if they're rebranded as Slate software.

WhiteCat-thanks so much for the info-didn't realize they were fully integrated companies. Good to know for next. Already sent FG a PM/email so maybe that had something to do w/ the quick response.

Noetheless, we heard back, got the license and the excitement is mounting as this DeEsser is one of a kind.

Hi, Eiosis is still alive and well and is an entirely separate company than Slate Digital, which is a company that I share with Fabrice Gabriel. We put "Steven Slate Digital" in the meta tags of the website since "Steven Slate" was a popular phrase for search engines.

As you can imagine, Fabrice is very busy working on both of his companies, and I hope you can be patient. I'm sure he'll get back to you regarding any Eiosis matters.

Best,
Steven

Hello Steven,
If you see Fabrice one of these days, could you please ask him to check his Air EQ .
I can't use it anymore cause my PTHD 9 would crash.
And no update since ages....
It's a shame becaude I like this EQ a lot.
I paid for it and can't use it.

No problem with the transienter.

Thanks.

yes please be patient guys. these kinds of posts will hardly help us make him want to keep his great products supported.
you need more sales for that not less.

annoying as it might be. the Transienter and de-esser are outstanding tools.
I really want these great tools to keep being supported. but to do that they would have to be advocated as being such.

That's not strange, that's what you get when you pay.
You pay for something that works only now (maybe), not working tomorrow, not working yesterday.
What about 2000 dollars for GenwaveEQ? Money thrown away.
Where are your rights?
Where are the rights of LP's (hundreds) i used as frisbee when i was a child, i lost my rights? ....or i never had rights.
I think i paid enough, never pay for softwares and you will get better softwares for free.
