Drum sample CD directory

Say someone was putting out a CD of single drum hits in wav format for use with aptrigga, sound replacer, etc... and each drum was sampled with 4 different levels (types) of processing. Which would be a better file system layout:

Root -> type of drum -> specific drum -> type of processing -> samples
------ (kick, tom, etc) -- (24' tama ) --- (EQ'd, compressed, etc..)
or

Root -> type of processing ---> type of drum --> specific drum -> samples
------(EQ'd, compressed, etc..) (kick, tom, etc) -- (24' tama )

There is no way around having dozens of folders and sub-folders, which would be more convienient?

Nobody has an opinion on this? I guess it's not that big of a deal.

No.. that sounds the best way to me

How else could you do it? Group drums into manufacturers.. so you would have -

Pearl > Kick/Snare/Toms > Processing etc

or you could have

Rock > Pearl > Kick/Snare/Toms > Processing

or..

Rock > Pearl > Kick/Snare/Tom > 80s/90s etc.. I would love someone to bring out some 80s drums

Yeah, I'm getting ready to record all the samples from a drum machine I have. I plan on recording a normal sound and for some, a compressed sound too. I'll probably have to do a similar organization, however, I will probably group the compressed wav and the normal wav in the same folder.

For example in the 'Snare" folder I'd have:

bigSnare1.wav
bigSnare1_compressed.wav

and so forth and so-on. I think it would be more conveinent to audition effected/uneffected samples in the same folder, rather than going back and forth between directories.

Out of curiosity, would it be unethical to sell samples from certain drum machines?

The only problem with that idea is that all my stuff is multisampled. Each individual snare folder will have 30 or so wave files. If I multiply that by the different processing, the names of the files would get way too long. Not to mention the fact that you would have a folder with 120 or 130 samples of the same drum.
Thanks for helping.
