I would wait if you're using Pro Tools. I've seen at least one report of an LE user on the DUC that says it's a no go for now.

I think it's one of those : 'let the others try it first' thingy

I noticed a 2% drop of system performance compared to 10.4.3 on my G4 at home. Hm..

However, my G5 Dual 2.3 in the studio hasn't been updated yet, I'll wait until I've finished the current project tomorrow.. no reason to take any chances.

logic 7.1.1 seems little more responsive, the CPU meter looks slightly faster under 10.4.4

Cannot update yet because of PT, but 10.4.3 is running great. It's usually just bugfixes and I haven't really noticed any strange behaviour even if they fixed around 200 bugs again.

Only interesting thing I've come across is a Windows Media codec for quicktime, so you don't need to use the crappy mediaplayer, but for that you won't need 10.4.4.

G5 PowerMac Dual 2.3, 2.5Gb RAM went down 5% in overall performance upgrading from 10.4.3 to 10.4.4.

Mac Mini 1.25 512Mb RAM went down 2% in overall performance upgrading from 10.4.3 to 10.4.4.

Measured with Xbench.

So it doesn't exactly look like things were improved, let's hope Apple fixes it.

OSX 10.4.4, G5 2Ghz dual, 3.5 Gb Ram, L 7.1.1 ... everything seemed OK until 2day's session ... G5 freezes ... Lines of white lettered code on top of black lines. Losta "kernals" mentioned .... looked very DOS startupy !!!!
Shut down and re-started, everything fine. This has never happened to me b4 in nearly 10 years of Mac use ...
Kinda weird

Hmmmm .... I'm still on 10.4.2 and was going to update to 10.4.3. I think I'll wait off a couple of weeks to see how 10.4.4 pans out.

Don't forget to repair permissions after you install the 10.4.4 OS update.

Personally, I'm waiting a few weeks to see what kind of reports come in
at Macfixit.com.

I recommend that if you do have any confirmed issues, that you take the time to post them in their forums.
