Hosting your website

well I am thinking to get new Hosting service for my exisiting website. it was hosted on local hosting company. any recomendation?. mean better service, cheaper (relative), fast connection ( internet is slow here..mostly dialup user).
I was recommend to get hosting at www.siteground.com for my existing website and my future website plan. they offer fairly cheap, fast and better service. I wonder if there are else..
jules..any recommendation?

godaddy.com is VERY inexpensive. So far the service seems pretty good.

I've been using hostdime for a few years - they've worked well for me. Their trouble-ticket help system is consistently fast, though not consistently helpful (though way better than about 8 other hosting companies I've used). Big advantages: multiple OC48 lines (meaning, incredibly fast web hosting), php, unlimited email addresses. Also, unlimited domains if you are a "reseller."

Others have been raving about dreamhost recently. They seen nearly identical to hostdime with a few extra nice features though they don't have the same brute strength that multiple OC48 lines get you. If that really matters to you.

Godaddy is good for domain names...

How much monthly bandwidth and storage do you need?

storage/bandwith

well I don't need that much but I might need storage for future development..so big storage and bandwith would be advantage. siteground.com offer 5USD/month and 4USD/month for 3 years contract. most important is fast connection and best service

You might want to try Startlogic.com. Their "Pro Logic" package is a pretty good deal, and they are quite reliable. I have hosted with GoDaddy in the past and found it somewhat problematic. Startlogic have been great.

Thumbs up USA Domains

Check out USADomains.com. Fast tech support responses, good connectivity, and a RealAudio/Video streaming server.

It's not as cheap as some other hosts, but you have to remember that you don't get what you don't pay for.

Upgrade your internet connection to the "business" option and build your own server. Shouldn't need more than a cheap PII with, like, 256megs of RAM. Then you can stream as much live video/audio as you want. I'm setting up a Windows Media Server 10 system right now. Works friggin great.

I may be wrong on this, but wasn't there a godaddy issue a while back where Google NEVER picks up on godaddy hosted sites...no matter how many times/ways one tried to register to get some google netbot activity?

Google picks up our godaddy site. It's actually the first hit. Others might be having problems, tho. Godaddy's pretty cool, in my book.

I've got mine on Yahoo. They do web-hosting among a slew of other things.

$12 a month for 50GB space and 250GB bandwidth a month. Can't beat that...

Where do I go to find that package? I can't seem to find a package that large on Yahoo.

My bad, I got the disk space way off. It's only 5GB, but the bandwidth is 200GB a month.

It's the starter plan.
