Midi Player for my Mac Powerbook...

Hey there.

I'm looking for a software midi player for my Powerbook.

I'd like something that will show me what's on the various midi channels.

I have Garageband 1 on my Powerbook - but it won't accept midi files.

Should I just spend some cash & get Garageband 2? Will this do what I want?

Any other free/cheap programs for the mac I could use?

Thanks,

SparkyCanada

Quicktime Pro might work? If not you might try to find Logic Express 6 or 7 for cheap.

David:

Thanks for the suggestion.

Do you know if QT Pro will let me change any of the volume settings of the tracks?

Thanks,

Quicktime Pro plays back MIDI via the built in wavetable, but you can't so anything with it.

Maybe copy and paste sections, but not individual control over parts.
