| Apple laptop battery recall/exchange. If you purchased an Apple laptop within the last couple of years this is worth looking into. https://depot.info.apple.com/battery...x.html?lang=en These puppies aren't cheap. If you have a battery included on this list it's worth exchanging. Filled out the info on Apple's website Friday 12/23. Replacement arrived today...Tuesday 12/27.

| Make sure you do this. I didn't know about this recall and the battery ran so hot that it ended up over the course of a year and a half burning up my video section of the motherboard and caused it to fail. Repair price? $800.00 replacement with a new g-4 ibook? $1000.00. I am typing this on my new Ibook!!!!! Thanks Apple. Michael Greene |

| This has been on the Apple site for a while, but let's make this a sticky for a couple of days so everybody who didn't know about this can look if their batteries need to be replaced before their precious machines get fried. |

| When Apple announced this exchange I had purchased a battery fairly recently. I was getting a good charge and wasn't overly concerned with the heat/fire thing. However, that battery didn't make it to a year before it pooped out. So, this has come in handy.

| I've seen those mac batteries melt some cables before. They get HOT, especially around the connector. I'd think an exchange would be a good idea, if it's going on now. |
