Thread Starter | Test actual speed on FireWire transfer
Hi, I'm helping out a friend who has some problems with his MOTU 896 and possible firewire speed settings. He's got a brand new computer with WinXP SP2 installed and we've followed the recommendations on RME's site on how to get full speed through FireWire on SP2. I think we've managed to replace the drivers associated with FireWire with the SP1 drivers. But the problems still remain. Is there any program that enables you to test the speed through your port? To actually see if we've got S100 or S400 running through the pipes. Anyone else experienced this?

Make sure you disable the XP Firewall on the 1394 interface. Other than that, I'm clueless.
