Nice to see so many users here. Got 3 questions,
1.Does the LM work with Cubase 6.5 and OSX Lion?
2.Is it still worth the money, compared to the latest Native plugins out there?
3.Were can I find a list of emulations with the real hardware names?

False, 64 bit drivers, yes. 64 bit plugins? No.

I use SL 64 and I stay in logic 32 bit because LQ is not a 64 bit plugin.

Few LM 32 issues

Hi,

My first post here. Been reading for years.

I have very recently acquired one of these unit and run it on my 2011 i7 Mbp. I acquired this from ebay (the 32 version). After the auction, the seller all of a sudden mentioned he could not find the power supply. Now I know I don't need the power supply but I get my Liquid Saffire 56 back from service tomorrow and I will then need to daisy chain the LM32. Unitl Apple pull their finger out and release the TB - FW cable they promised.

I have issues trying to find the right power supply. Although the unit states it required 12v @ 1A AC, in Focusrite's answer base it states it needs to be 1,5A. Focusrite today confirmed this by email and said the unit would kill a 1A PSU in no time. They even recommended to look for a 2A version. But all I find is AC?DC supply's at this rating. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I use Pro Tools 10.2.0 with Lion 10.7.4 and V3 of the LM software. My liquid mix gui screen comes up white. It is resolved by pressing in the upper left hand corner and then the focusrite 'about' info. But would this be the issue that can be resolved by going back to v2 of the LM software?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Bart

You can always remove the diode bridge from the power supply if you can't find an AC one. That is what converts AC to DC.

Hi,

I recently bought a new apple MacBook pro 13" and I can't figure out wich FireWire cable I need to connect my Liquidmix...
There's a FW cable included but those connetions are to big and won't fit on my MacBook...

Focusrite recommends the Sonnet 800 to 400 FireWire adaptor

I bought the Moshi for my Macbook pro and it's been working great but it's also almost 3x the price.

I don't have my LM anymore, but another option is a 400 <> 800 cable at Monoprice. For those who are adaptor averse...

Just an fyi, I have an LM32 in great shape that I'm going to let go. PM me an offer if you're interested. It's been a good piece of gear for me, but just doesn't fit with my current workflow.

If by quoting me you are suggesting I am 'adapter averse', I do stand by my original description - 800 to 400. One would assume otherwise due to the nature of the adapter connections so maybe it's every manufacturer who makes them who are 'averse'.

Either that or both refer to the same thing (which a google search seems to imply) so maybe they assumed we are ALL 'averse'.

In any case, I do appreciate the clever nature of your comment.

Yes but only if you run your DAW in 32 bit...at least that's been my experience with Cubase 6 & 7 32 bit verses 64.

Confirmed working in Mountain Lion 10.8 and Pro Tools 10.3.2 with Liquid Mix version 2.3.16. Version 3 won't install the normal way in Mountain Lion (or at least not for me and if you do somehow figure out how to install it like I did, the wrapper acts weird). Version 2 works perfectly.

Works fine in Win7/64 & Cubase 6.5 (&7)/64

No problems here, running all 64 bit. Cubase 6.5 and 7 are working perfectly. Use jBridge for the LM32. I even have two FireWire cards in my machine: one for the LM32 and the other for my Saffire 56.

Lots of good emulations in the LM. At the same settings, for instance, the LM's Pultec is indistinguishable (to my ear) from the UAD Pultec (Ihave a UAD-2 card in there, too). The APIs are very useful when you want color. Neat stuff. I could go on.

Highly recommended.
