 | Panther is going to be great! Look at the .mac link. They're saying that Panther will have much faster iDisk performance. Safari should be faster as well. Yummy |

| "A lot more Unix stuff" in Panther. "A lot of stuff" added for Windows interoperability, including SMB improvements. "Jaguar is over. Today we're going to preview Panther...version 10.3. It's the fourth major release of OS X." Over 100 new features. Yess great news! |

| Panther has a brand new Finder. Old Finder is "computer-centric." New Finder is "user-centric." All your stuff is in one column on the left of the window (similar to iTunes playlists FileVault is a new feature based on requests due to lost notebooks. It secures your entire home folder. FileValue encrypts and decrypts all files going into and out of Home directory on the fly. The Fast Switch in awesome - loud applause from the crowd. The Desktop literally spins around to the new one, kind of like Keynote. iChat AV: "Goes beyond just text chat" with audio chat and video chat. "Video conferencing for the rest of us." Zero setup/configuration. Plug in the camera, the rest happens automatically. Shows how your buddies are set up, as well. Location-independent. no IPs no config necessary!! |
