You gave me a great idea with this. Imagine a Slate Digital Life Support system in a hospital where you are a patient or a Slate Digital Autopilot in your next flight's plane. How much worst can nightmares become? Let me think... No.. I would choose Freddy Krueger any day (night actually).

Jokes aside, Slate products are awesome of course and thats why I own all of them and I am pretty sure Steven is a great guy as well (Fabrice is a great guy too and very helpful). All the critisism here no matter how harsh it may seem, is only to make them even better and I am sure he is very well aware of this.

Anyway comming to the point about the criticalness of Mastering.... When Steinberg (Philippe actually) released Wavelab 7.2 in December which was a little buggy they released 7.2.1 after 10 days. Not 1 year. The same even with a Slate product like VCC. Gradual updates resulting 1.5.2 made it stable. I am not quite following you why we should have months and months of coding and beta testing before a release comes out. If there is a bug or two remainnig fix it with a point update later on. big deal... Its not a life suppont sytem like I said nor is "mastering" of the same importance or even close. The most important point of course is that if its already buggy, releasing a less buggy build is a progress and a step towards a bug free release in the future.

FWIW I tried to load it in BIAS as a VST this afternoon and it crashed BIAS! [sigh]

You can turn off the limiter/output dither, etc...why would you want the compressor separately? I think there's even a preset with nothing but the compressor...?

The only downside to that is the lack of output control. Not a deal breaker but it would be nice to have that option on version 2

Because if there was a separate compressor it would take up less screen area?

It would be great to have the comp separate....also, doesn't it need it's own VU meter??

If you wanted to put a plug between the compressor and the Limiter.

The FG-X Update is in beta, I'm gonna have a chat with our beta manager today to see if it's ready to post. I believe it should be.

Cheers,
Steven

When I reload Cubase and try to load project Cubase crashed before project screen apear. I check memory status and its gonna to almost my 8GB ram. Hey Steven,

Is this fixed? I have the same exact issue with FG-X 64bit crashing Cubase.
I contacted support several months ago and told me it's a bug.
Any news on that?

i have stopped using this plug in PT for now. The CPU usage is just ridiculous and I'm done with crossing my fingers through a bounce w/ the rig i have. Rather than get mad, i simply laugh when i play this song when i see another soon update on the update itself:
En Vogue - My Lovin ( Your Never Gonna Get It) WITH LYRICS - YouTube

And to be honest, I made the jump for the Ampex on UAD. I was going to wait to try the Slate plug, but it might become another forgotten tool when they move "on to the next one"...just my two pennies...

PT guys, if you own Vienna Ensemble Pro you can use it to host the VST version of FGx with PT. The VST uses very little DSP. Shouldn't have to do that, but at least it's a way to get around the horrendous RTAS performance.
