And it's way buggier too. They botched so many things that worked previously I have been pulling my hair out for weeks... and what was it, 4 patches in less than a month?

They have much improved CSS2 support, but there are still problems galore in the basic rendering engine. For example, if you try to get the dimensions on an object when the window resizes, it is wrong, or worse, 0.

So yes, Firefox gets faster... because they aren't doing the things they NEED to do to render HTML correctly. There's actually a group whose only purpose is to minimize the in memery footprint... what a waste! How about firing resize avents more than every other second and actually recalculating boxes (now it does it like every other event or so, first one always being wrong).

to develpers making these decisions.

Safari here too. I won't touch Mozilla since an earlier build hosed my OS directory big time! Probably much better now, but too gun-shy to risk it...

I want Firefox to remember my everyday Tab configuration. It's a bore to set 6 tabs up each time I start the laptop..

Any ideas? Does the new version do it?

Here you go Jules, just instal the Tab history extension and it wil remember your browser settings, it worked great in the previous firefox and an update for firefox 1.5 is on the way. Here is the link

The award-winning Web browser just got better. It’s free, and easy to use. Join the millions of people worldwide enjoying a better Web experience.

I cant find anything that say they want a dollar a month, so where did you get that?
Are you confusing the new google andsense function? you get 1 dollar if someone downloaded and installed firefox with the google toolbar in it. You get the dollar when youre refferer opens firefox the first time.

I just put 5 or six bookmarks in one folder... easy. And then when you get to that folder in the pulldown it give you the option to "open in tabs"

next time,

Thank you for that link. I googled it twice the other day and thought I found the official Mozilla website, but when I tried to download 1.5 I had to put in a little personal information and then was given 3 options....something like 24.00 for a lifetime membership or something like 15.00 for 1 year.....

Anyway, thanks again.
