New Soundtoys Plugin! - Juice

I think I will love like this little brother of Decapitator... looks like another great day coming for those of us who mix totally ITB.

Looks like Slate Digital better pull their finger out

I'm really in the market for a channel emulation like Charles Dye uses in MILAR but as I'm VST on PC, Mc DSP AC1 is out of the question.

This, or the Slate Digital channel emul. plugin, may be the thing I'm looking for.

I'm in the same boat; I've played around with a lot of plugins in VST land but have found everything too heavy-handed to use on every channel. I have high hopes for the Slate plug but I'll definitely hold off on purchasing until I can try this.

What would be the difference between this one and the Decapitator? Stripped down version?

Would this be included as part of the native bundle?! (feels a bit cheeky that as it's already amazing value) Looks

A great big thumbsup

Much much subtler than Decapitator. Not meant for overdriving purposes...

How about adding a Punish button to this one too!..

sorry, I couldn't resist :p

Or since this is the kinder, gentler version... maybe the button should be called Rehab

I'm still waiting on a good chorus plug!

Exclamation GUI rework

Hey guys, just did a draft of what I would see it look like in the final release.

Would be more usable and fit better on the screen this way, IMHO.

Whatcha think ?

Exclamation Hint, hint, hint...

Oh and by the way, maybe a hint about what's coming after that !

Great times for analog modeling !

Actually I like the vertical one, mostly because it looks a little different I suppose, also a bit more console-y

They both look great maybe the edge goes to the vertical look. Cannot wait for this to be released along with my new Tape Simulation from Soundtoys. Also a variable high pass filter would be an added bonus in Juice. Soundtoys Rock

SWEEEEET. I LOVE SOUNDTOYS and maybe there is part of me that is satisfied that there is competition for Slate VC...although the Soundtoys appears to be more channel input focussed and perhaps the Slate has more focussed on the whole console process...?

Exactly !

Slate Digital VCC is modeling the sound and interactions of the whole console.

Whereas SoundToys Juice is modeling the input channel of mic preamps and console preamps.

Two different beasts.

Prefer the first version. Especially the typeface. That goofy script on the second version looks cheesy. Horizontal design is fine though. But why is the faceplate green? It should be black to match all the other Soundtoys plugs.

(Incidently, why do manufacturers insist on making rack gear in all kinds of outlandish colours? Don't they know the only good choices are black, grey, or plain brushed metal? Any other colour is bound to clash with everything else in the rack. Get a bunch of those rainbow units together and you get a rack that looks like a flea market display. Stick with neutrals. That's my interior decor tip of the day. )

I'd prefer to stick to the black faceplate as well...the SoundToys plugs have the best looking GUIs around

Wow. Got Photoshop, huh? Geez, they just announced the thing. Can we leave the GUI designs to the guys designing the plugs? The original is better. Even while green...

Nice catch, K-Slash! Didn't notice that at first... sounds promising. Dam, these Soundtoys guys are very seriously developing a best-in-class suite.

I wonder in practice how different sonically both plugins will be. Didn't never know whether the additional punch/separation of the OTB mixes came due to the preamps or due to the mixing itself (or both). Something tells me we'll have some discussions on this soon ;-)

A console is just a row of channels connected to busses.

fantastic... i, too, am looking for an ITB console emulation. UAD Neve currently sits on most of my channels, but it doesn't have much (or anything) in the way of saturation.. so Juice + the 88rs will be sweet (i hope).

HELL. YES. I'm so pumped for this!

100% for the vertical design. It looks killer.
