I think threads that identify unfixed bugs should be bounced regularly so that people considering purchasing the products will know not to until they are fixed. This is a huge issue in the industry--releasing lots of new stuff before the old stuff actually works. I love my SoundToys stuff but I would be mighty mad if I paid good money for something that didn't work.

Hey guys, just to let you know we're (and our beta testers) our still banging away at our latest build and continuing to try to make this release really rock solid. Not sure exactly why this one is taking so long, but I think there's some law somewhere that says the debugging time increases with the square of the number of platforms supported, and with the PC/VST thing being relatively new for us, and with the number of hosts, it is definitely taking longer than expected to iron out all the little bugs. Sorry, we ARE working on this, just quietly. And you won't see any other new products popping out before this release, it is our first priority.

Thanks for the update Ken :-)

for RTAS please don't forget:
-alt/option-click for return to default knob position (unlike PSP!)
-correct automation data displayed in the track (unlike PSP!)

Cheers!

I can't wait for this plugin to come out. I have a feeling it would see even more use than the decapitator, if that's any possible!

Ken
while i appreciate that you're working hard to fix the issues, i wouldn't call the noiseburst bug a 'little bug'. once a plugin becomes fear-inducing, you're in different territory.

the sooner this is fixed, the better. i would definitely love to use my soundtoys plugins again.

I am another one who was rendered sterile by the noise burst when I was demoing echoboy vst in windows/samplitude and working late with headphones one night. my hearing has never recovered.

Had a crazy noise burst in reaper, same concept, late at night working with headphones. Geesh. Horrible and shocking exprerience. My hearing has fully recovered as far as I can tell.

I own the Decapitator only, and have never heard any noise bursts ever. Even the Beta Decapitator ran perfectly on my Pro Tools system. Is this just an Echoboy thing? Anyways cant wait for the Juice to go come out because the Decapitator is by far the most realistic and usable Mojo Plug in I have ever come across. Hope they sort out your issues in the next update.

Any chance of a public beta with this as you guys did with Decapitator?

Any estimate of when it will be released? Weeks? Months?

that could well be. i think it has something to do with buffers, and as far as i can tell, decapitator doesn't use buffers. but on the other hand, i remember i've had the problem with decapitator too.(could be totally wrong on that one) it could also be a vst problem though. so that's why protools doesn't give you any trouble.

anyways, this ought to be top priority. if i had my ears and professional audio career blown this way, i could probably make a very strong case in court. but for now i just won't use the plugins i spent $400 on. which is a shame.

i can't wait to see if i have enough juice in my cpu to run VCC and Juice on every channel and still be able to eq and process.

i wonder what 2011 will have in store for ITB mixing. things are definitely picking up.

I need a bigger desk "how big sir? 6 or 12 cores". sounds crazy lol

Well don't really care about that. In freezing feature I trust ;-).

Just want the best sounding processing possible. No matter if my Core i7 says he needs holidays .

Same here, but without freezing. i'm running a liquid cooled i7 and 1600Mhz low latency RAM i like to mix as i go along. call me greedy, not needy.

Basicaly i can see VCC and Juice setup as a template. more then likely Juice will be bypassed untill i know what going on the channel i'm working or recorded on. group function like VCC would be cool but not a necessary to my needs as it is with VCC. VCC i will select type according to project while Juice i will sellect according to sound source.

damb just thought of something. now if only i could insert a plug-in, say an EQ in within VCC. not sure why this appeals to me

I emailed them a while back about the noise bursts, after having some terrible BLOW OUTS in Ableton Live when using the demo.

Asked them if the bug was acknowledged, and if a fix was in the mix. No reply. That's the kind of thing that is pretty off-putting.

If they want people to buy their software, at least have the decency to reply to something this serious.

I suggest to create a new thread for this specific issue (in another section, of course).

I am talking about Soundtoys Native v4, sorry for not being precise.

I didn't manage to track down *which* particular plug-in caused the noise, but it happened several times in Live, and it seemed to happen with several plugs (though I could be mistaken, because several Soundtoys plugs were activate at the time).

Unhappy

I get that freaking noise burst from pitch blender TDM. I get it every day. I think it is only the first time per day/boot up. I have soiled many a nice Calvin Kleins over the years. Every time i pay for an upgrade i hope it will be gone. But it is still there....

i'm clad to never have had any problems with soundtoys plug-ins TDM or native. but i've been lucky like that the only 2 plug-ins ive had problems with was Ivory 1.7 and the player for the complete composers collection on Win 7 64bit. updates sorted ccc and i expect ivory 2 to do the same. on osx everything has been fine.

I hoping Juice will give me just that, more juice. i'm caping my pluging purchases next year. Juice, Relab and McDSP new offerings just might get in. UA and the rest will have to come up with something special for me to part with more cash. many of companies could probably make more money out of me with improvements to what they already have.

i can't wait to hear this thing and i love the name

Public beta is coming! Public beta is coming!

Quote:
SoundToys AES News

Lots of news, but first, our Booth number is 719 so stop by and say "What's Up?". Hit us on FaceBook to get updates through the show.
SoundToys on FaceBook OK, here we go:

Show Specials
We will be running show specials for the attendees of the show this year. If you are going and want to pick up a great deal on a SoundToys bundle, this will be your chance.

Chances to Win
We will also be doing daily giveaways of our cool new t-shirts and a SoundToys Native Effects bundle. Winners will be chosen from the badge scans we get each day so make sure to come by and get yourself scanned and scoped.

Juice!!!!
Drum roll... We'll be showing a sneak peek of the new Juice Input Channel Modeler plug-in (maybe even a sneak listen, if you're good), plus we'll be making an announcement about the public beta. Yeah!

New Preset Expanders
There's more? We will also be announcing 3 all new free Preset Expanders from our Artist series. Featuring Producer/Mixer Peter Wade, Producer/Remixer Morgan Page, and for the first time ever the amazing Mr. Tchad Blake has designed an exclusive set of presets for Decapitator. These are some amazing sets of presets and they are totally free. They will require our new V4.1 so they won't be available till that has been released.

Morgan Page in Person
We'll have Morgan Page himself at the AES show to talk about what part SoundToys plays in his music creation on Sunday afternoon at 1pm. Don't miss a chance to meet and greet.

V4.1 Update
Also, for those waiting on V4.1 and all the various fixes it holds, we are testing now what seems to be a good final solution. As long as nothing new pops up and it tests solid, we hope to release this free update in the next week or two.

Mitch's Hair
Last but not least, Mitch will be sporting the latest SoundToys t-shirt and his AES 2010 hair color. It's always gotta be about Mitch.

Told ya there was lots of news.

Hope to see you at the show.

Thanks,
The SoundToys Team
