Digital Performer 7.12 - Anyone Else Having Issues?

i've been using DP for a long time, and it's always been rock solid (currently on an intel mac mini running the most recent os)...but since the 7.12 update the other day, things have been a bit unstable. occasional crashes and hang ups...some plugins (notably VintageWarmer2 and AudioDamage reverbs) have occasionally made crazy crackling sounds. but the strangest thing is mixdowns have been randomly missing parts of tracks. entire tracks aren't missing, but randomly an instrument will just disappear from the mix.

anyone else having issues since the 7.12 update, or am i all alone on this one?

I have been on my desk every (week) day since the update and have had no issues. Quad Mac Pro 2.6 ghz. I do not use the DP plugs very much. I have worked on 16bit/44.1k, 16bit/48k and 24bit/48k sessions without problems. Sorry to hear of your difficulty.

Rock solid.

I'm sure you have thought of this, but perhaps try disabling plug ins until you find a culprit?

Could be a simple install gone wrong. Just try and re-install again, after running Disk Warrior and repairing permissions, to make sure the disk is OK before the files get written.

DP7.12 is the best version since 5.13 for me. Rock solid and very powerful.

Just installed DP7, Am I the only one who can't adjust parameters in powercore plugins? The plugs load and work, but I can't make any adjustments within the plug itself.

Any help out there for a nice guy like me?

FWIW: Please, ask about DP on the Motunation forum www.motunation.com
Here you´ll get the best of advise.

I´m on DP 7.12 and it´s rock solid.

I'm with you on this. I thought that the first update of DP7 was really stable. I was able to disabled track on playback without a flinch in the audio. To me that was a sign that they did nail the OS code for mac.
Since an update of the OS or DP (i don't remenber which one) it is back. The audio is flinching when I disabled tracks while playing.

I still get a lot of crashes in the Sequencer editor while working.

I should mention that I love the new insert settings which is a real time saver in the project I'm working on right now. But I still have to save every move I make.
