What is the best OSX DAW?

I'm just curious as to which DAW all of you users are using on OSX. What did you choose and why? Thanks.

I use Logic.

However, I used to use Cubase years ago when that trumped Emagic.

However, Logic then got ahead with the audio side and never looked back.

Nuendo looks cool, i've used it. It's quick, it's nippy, it's kind of the answer for people who want more of a pro feel than Peak and none of the expense of Pro Tools. Steinberg really did themselves a favour stripping down the Cubase audio geatures and puting them in a package that wasn't such an eyesore.

I hope Apple do that with Logic. It does so much it's looking untidy, the menu's aren't particularly intuitive. It's a bit 'grey' looking. Could look a bit more whizz bang.

I've never used DP.

Pro Tools! Well, it's Pro Tools. It's great, but it's no sequencer. Which makes this 'What is the best daw' question a little tricky when some of the choices aren't 'just' daws.

FWIW, Nuendo 2 (just released) seems to have some real problems on the Mac.

Logic on a Mac is for the technically inclined who want max power and will pay for it in setup and learning curve. DP for the more straight ahead people who want to get to making music with less fiddling, but wade through more menus in the longterm. PT if it's more about audio than Midi for you and you have the $$$.

Steinberg is quickly becoming the refuge for PC users.

I would have to say ProTools ... although that answer is a bit coloured 'cause I've been using it for ages now without 'realy' looking at the competition except for Logic. If I would need more 'intense' midi it would definately be Logic. But I don't and I'm quite happy with the midi in PT these days. I even dare to say that for 90% of the midi users out there ... PT has everything inside. Advantage of PT midi is that it treats it like audio in many many ways. And of course that everything stays in the same environment. Midi timing / latency is as close to perfection as it will ever get with midi.
