Q-clone Impulses

Anyone mind posting Q-clone presets you have sampled from your eq's?

I bet you were losing faith brother!

I sat at my mates new ssl channel strip whilst he was away and cloned the f@cker. Damn them for including two different eq types. I think I only did the E series..?anyways it's not quite complete and will forever remain so as he sold it. I was expecting an explosion of people sharing clones on the net but waves made it too expensive again! This was mind numbing work and I could of gone into even greater detail, still it took DAYS.
It is your lucky day friend I am still yet to find anyone who has done what I have.
Have fun

OH the files seem too big to upload in one go(i'm too tired and impatient) I will post them in little chunks as opposed to the 63.mb monster they are

actually it's way bigger than the 63 mb I just quoted about 5 times more. Can gearsluts server handle it?

here is the smallest lot (still a long upload time sheesh) the filter section HP and LP.11 increments for each. There wasn't any difference with the E button in or out so you get em like this. By the way I did A/B's between the clones and the strip and although the ssl has that crunch when pushed, at low gains it was pretty hard to tell. I'd say these are 90% the sound of the original unit. Quite tasty

Thank you for taking the time to do this and posting. I haven't had a chance to try them yet, but I can't wait. I'd like to return the favor, but I don't really have any "sought after" high end eq's to clone. I was thinking of cloning the eq in my PM1000 (not very versatile but they sound good). The only other outboard eq I have is an Apogee CRQ-12, which I'm thinking of cloning as well (sounds really good). When I do I'll post the presets here for anyone interested.

Now, who's going to clone their 1073???

Cool thirdeye..I hope you enjoy and others alike. I am interested in whatever you have to offer. There are several items in the studio I work at I could clone such as TLaudio eq's and a classic old klark-technic graphic? But yeah that neve would be a nice one specially if It's in detail. I can't help there at the mo. Keep me posted about those clones

Well Beam me up.... I'm a Gear Slutz for sure e....
Please Sirocco upload some of your Library of Presets for Q-Clone and anyone else
as well. As stated before we need more Presets from Pro Gear. But Waves has not posted enough or Advertised Enough, & the Price is Way to High.

But, I purchased it because you can't just buy the gear so, Q-Clone comes in handy for those of us that owns this baby!

SO LETS ALL UPLOAD!!!! I will soon as well thumbsup

By the way Does anyone know what Eq's were used for Q-Clone presets and d/l eq's from webpage?

EQ 1
EQ 2
EQ 3
EQ 4
EQ 5
EQ 6
????????????????????????????

They never had a name for the EQ's used in PDF!

Which one is Neve, Pultec etc. The names were there until I updated.....

Anyone?

yea, I guess waves had legal issues because the names are not included anymore. I never knew what eq4, 5 and 6 were though. I use eq4 a lot. I thoght there would be q-clone presets all over the net.

After comparing an old preset folder(5.0) to a new (looks like the 5.2 waves update dropped the preset names), I've concluded that the new EQ 1 folder has the same presets as the previous Eqp1a3 folder, the new EQ 2 folder has the same presets as the previous Nv1066 folder, and the new EQ 3 folder has the same presets as the previous GM95 folder. As for EQ4,5 and 6, I'm not sure.

Can't download!

Thanks very much for sharing these files. Unfortunately that file sharing place won't let me download anything. Says I am already downloading a file (which I'm not). Does anybody who successfully downloaded these SSL files have them elsewhere that I can download? Would be greatly appreciated...

Mason.

if you still have difficulty. i think i can upload them direct to gearslutz the compressed file isn't as big as i thought
I too thought that there would be a wealth of share filing communities but I gave up looking a while back. It's kind of getting me thinking about starting a page where people can share sample libraries, impulses, qclones etc. I know there are a few about but they rarely open the gates to new members mainly due to the amount of illegal stuff available and to stamp out the virus mongers.
The problem with qclone is not everyone is attracted by the prospect of loading in presets to try and eq a sound even if that means superior results. I think this is why there isn't agreat deal of clones around on the net. What is needed is a GUI that can let you have hands on control of these presets. Hydratone by tritone digital uses a similar method I think. But doesn't sound as nice IMO as qclone presets and only offers 4 eq types although these are totally parametric.Oh yeah and a fire button for analogesque distortion! It is good.
So we need a standardised method for capturing every nuance of the devices, people willing to sit there for days and capture said devices and someone to create the software to play all these captured impulses.Anyone?
peace

Yes I agree about Q-Clone versus Hydratone. I am big fan of Q-Clone and would love to see a dedicated user site for it. If you could upload your SSL presets here that would be great...

Guyz, what happened to "Sirocco" .... He said he had a whole library of Q-Clone Presets????

We could start a library hear @ GearSlutz and attract more people here as well.
We should make presets of all types of channel strips, Desks, Pre-Amps and Eq's as well. Just as Tritones Colortone Pro and compare the End Results Sound.

Q-Clone may be better @ Capturing the Gearz True Sound thumbsup

Soooo, Mount up your Analog Gear People, and Let's Clone Away!!!

This is quite cool man! I'll contribute as well by cloning my Neotek Elite Eqs at a few settings. Its a great sounding eq, you can get completely radical in settings and it always remains sounding cool.

ok mason but no time to do upload until thursday, sorry. Is anyone else experiencing difficulties with the download?
It would be great to start that here so everyone get cloning!
Try to capture each frecuency at a good number of + and - settings (you will only get a certain amount of gain b4 qclone starts freaking tho). Also clone a tiny increment of cut and boost so you can fine tune it easier, I kick myself for not doing it!. This way you can use a standard eq whilst mixing and then replace with the appropiate presets at the end.
I think if you cut your eq rather than boost, it is almost identical to the original unit. I may have been a complete anal monkey and recorded some of the noise from the ssl inorder to complete the illusion I definately A/B 'd a few things whilst doing it and there was little difference between clone and real deal.
Exciting times for us..
I think maybe qclone captures the phase better than hydratone that being as important a factor as eq curve. I am also a massive fan of tritones stuff tho.
Peace everyone
