Check out all the McDSP stuff. Analog channel and Compressor Bank are my fav's.URS makes great eq plugins and folks round here seem to really dig the PSP Vintage Warmer.

1) Fxpansion VST to RTAS - will open up a whole new world of possibilities to go broke on buying new plugs (and dowloading free ones )2) Wave Arts - Track Plug (great EQ and gate + CPU efficient) + Multi Dynamics (CPU Efficient) 3) Sony Oxford Plugs - EQ and Dynamics 4) URS - Great EQ's and from what I limited samples I have heard, the new compressors sound awesome 5) Waves - IR1 Reverb

I use one of 4 things: 1.Nothing (or an API 2500) 2.The dreaded L1 or 2 or 3 (....I admit it..I like it) 3.Master 3X ( I hate it!!!! but it does work..sometimes) 4.Impact (it's ok) Almost forgot to add: 1. Anything by IZOTOPE 2. D-FI plugins...yes they are WAY over used, but I love em still. |

1. Tritone Digital - Hydratone EQ (leaps and bounds ahead of the competition for soft eq) 2. Tritone Digital - Colortone Free & Pro across the mix buss plus individual tracks for adding warmth and character/color (shits on Analog Channel btw) 3. PSP - Vintage Warmer 4. Voxengo - Analog Flux Chorus (the best chorus in the software world) 5. Waves - delays My faves. Remember, this is my personal preference. |

I love metric halo channel strip. It took a long time to get into it for some reason, but I like the compressor on drums particularly.

Sony's for Eq and dynamics although the EQ3 and Dynamics 3 take you a long way. URS's if you're looking for 'colour' instead of transparency. (I have to try the comp's one of these) Reverb wise if you're doing surround Revibe is an absolute must. The Eventide reverb IS the 960 of ITB. STUNNING reverb ... It still surprises me not more people have discovered the Eventides ... including the factory / band delays .... brief ... the anthology bundle. The reverb alone is worth 5 times the price of the Anthology bundle. FWIW ... As much as it stuns me that there's so few people that seem to have 'discovered' the eventides it probably stuns me even more how many people like the entire convolution hype. But hey .... it must be me so ... There's loads of choices ... mcdsp's are good to have - autotune is a must for most of us ... waves .... well, I wish they weren't so wuppy ... Different strokes for etc etc .... thought I'd mention a couple of my favourites.

I really like the mcdsp stuff. Just downloaded a bunch of the demo's and I'm extremely impressed, however the prices hurt a little. I also just purchased the Wave Arts reverb and multidynamics and really like those. The price is really impressive too at just a 175 bucks a piece. However they seem a little cpu hoggish. I've seen tons of people say they aren't that taxing but I can't seem to get more than 3-4 instances of dynamics and 1-3 or the reverb. It still gets me where I want to get though, I usually just use the multidynamics on the kick and master channel and the reverb on the master so it isn't a big deal. Allso the new eq3 and dynamics3 from digi are pretty impressive for standard plugins.
