| Gear maniac | Aleksey has some interesting outlooks on plugin development. Many of the more quirky aspects of his plugins are because of his apparent inexperience in a studio environment, he seems to come at it from a more intellectual level. I've seen him put his own views ahead of actual users time and time again. Usually there is a work around or a comprimise to be made which is unfortunate. I can't help but think that if he got some feedback from real world trenches his plug-ins would be that much better. It is his company, and he's certainly free to do whatever he wants. I do use his plug-ins, the AFTape plug gets used at least once or twice in most mixes I do and Pristine Space is a great tool. I stopped using his Marquis compressor because it does not maintain the phase intergrity of the original signal and that's a real problem, especially in a multiple mic situations. He has refused to address it, essentially saying that users have to adapt or change their working methods in order to use his product in their productions. http://www.voxengo.com/forum/marquiscomp/1067/ Mark |
