my midi tests

sonar is not perfect but listen to how much better it is than cubase at 16ths on my sh2 at 130bpm.

the proof is in the pudding... i write a lot of songs with 16th notes.. this is a major blow to my music production. and after this test i am leaning towards logic again... i may have to bite the bullet and buy a mac Sad :(

the cubase version sounds like a drunk computer studdering here and there. yup, rmehdsp9652 with newest drivers. no background stuff in windows, windows is stripped down. it does this on 4 motherboards i tried, with different ram as well. bad midi not jsut on my sh2, but on my virus, my jp8080, my jupiter 8, my moog too, alpha juno as well. its not the sh2, its not the midi cables, i tried many different types.. the sonar one is not perfect but way better and more consistant...

this is just laughable at best... its a huge deal...

used cubase sx2, the most stable of the bunch, sx3 does it to, as did sx1.. this is a joke...

can someone with a mac and logic and a amt8 post a test like this so i can see if its tight with external hardware synths?

hexfix...
just out of curiosity.....if you want hi resolution ppqn i would be interested how powertracks that i use fares.....one of the best midi sequencers ive tried.

try the demo sometime from pgmusic.com.....most people who know midi inside out find it very impressive. it would take me pages to list all the features...
so try the demo if you have time.

they both seem pretty bad.. obviously one is worse than the other but both are not steady by any means.
roland sh2? im not familiar with that but its analog right? cv-midi going on?
somethings not right.. your dismissing cubase to early..
no one would be using it if it sounded like that.. and hella people use it,
before you rule out cubase being the culprit.. figure out whats wrong with your system/ midi interface
go to nuendo.com or cubase.net and find the midi loopback test.. follow directions there to troubleshoot midi timing.
