Presonus Firepod & midi

It looks like a lot of people have had trouble with midi in the past, but I can't find any instance of this problem, which leads me to believe it's something obvious that I'm overlooking...

OSX Snow Leopard (all updated) has no problems detecting the two Firepods I've got hooked up to it, including midi ins/outs from each. They're both connecting through the port called "Plug 1" according to Audio MIDI Setup...which, I guess, is the firewire port I'm using? But the Audio MIDI Setup "Test Setup" can't detect any midi signals from any devices through the Firepods. No prob for a USB midi controller.

Right, so...I want to be using non-USB midi controllers and I wonder if any of you have dealt with this issue? Thanks!!

I had the same problem using protools. Simply make sure "midi Thru" is checked.
