Thread Starter | 002 chasing midi..delay??
Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone is doing this and having the same problems? My 002 chases my Radar during mix time --there is sometimes a problem with the 002 waiting up to 45 seconds or so to catch up when I hit play on my Radar24. There is no offset..I checked that. Anybody?? Thanks, Micah |

42 seconds sounds entirely toooooo long. Do you have any other midi devices that you could hook up to check if they have the same delay, or act crazy too? Have you tested the midi cables? I have sync'd my 001 without problems before to mpc's tritons and other DAWS. And, are your framerates the same? rock sdf |

I always use my MPC midi locked to the Radar24 with ZERO problems. Now I will say the delay in locking up got better once I bought a faster computer for my 002. But it still happens, it just works longer before it has lock up problems. When I restart Protools, it works right away, but after several stops and start, it happens again. Why do I feel like this wouldn't happen with the non-crippled HD system. Although it could be that I don't know what the crapp I'm doing |

I have a 002 and am having a similiar lock up problem that you describe. I use Protools 6.9 and upgraded to 7. I am using the MCU and extender connected to a midisport 2x2. I have changed alot of stuff recently but this general setup was working fine for a year. I am going to change my midi cables tonight as I have been using what has been lying around. My situation goes like this: I have asession open in Protools. I can play start and stop fast formard rewind etc. once I start moving faders protools becomes unstable although the audio plays glitch free. The screen is frozen and the MCU doesn't respond. I can only close protools aith a ctl/alt/delete. I must reboot to restart protools. I think that the MCU is loosing contact with protools and making it freak out. I have replaced my audio drive recently, added an MCU XT and a 2x2 interface. I upgraded to PT7 hoping this might help but it didn't. I will try some midi cables tonight. If that doesn't work I will wipe the computer and reinstall every thing fresh and see what happens. Dave |

Are both of youse guys receiving midi to your PTLE DAWS thru the 002 and the firewire port, or thru a USB midi interface? Maybe the firewire port is the bottleneck? DJD2, are you using the midi 2X2 for sync? if not try it.... rock sdf |
