I took the jump to PT 7. Review.

Up and running great. No problems at all with the upgrade from 6.9 to 7.
I must say 7 is extremely snappy, and seems very solid. The worst part is installing all the plug in upgrades. I didn't have to touch the Waves stuff at all, and digi has done a nice job of organizing the plug upgrade downloads.

There is a current issue with Aux input tracks when using RTAS instruments where you must assign a hardware input to the aux track in order to hear audio from the instrument. Not a huge deal, but at first I thought all my RTAS instruments had been rendered useless. Not so thankfully.

7.0 has some seriously nice UI upgrades going for it. The new real time midi options, and edit/track selection features are very sweet. Looks like Digi really nailed this one. I would say after one night using 7.0 it's a must have, and every bit worth the upgrade. Cmon in people the water is fine.

Are you on Mac or PC? TDM or LE? Did you have to uninstall PT first?

Im wondering if your waves plugs are optimized?? Checking out the waves site.........you have to download the update, and of course be covered under WUP which will be another 117.00 hard earned dollars for me.

Im not sure if you meant you didnt even bother with waves or the current version seemed to load right up.

Here is the waves PT 7 compatibility page http://www.waves.com/content.asp?id=1741

Let us know what you come up with

Peace
Eddie

Actually Waves is the only thing I didn't upgrade, as the old versions are all working fine with 7.0.
I'm on a G5 with HD btw.
The only plug in that I lost for the time being is my Sony EQ, which will be updated within a few more days.
Other than that the only issue I have come across is with Reason 3.0 via rewire causing a crash when browsing patches, but I found an easy workaround until it gets fixed.
