when we were all on logic 8 it seemed Apple had give up support and was too dedicated to Garageband , so any update for logic 9 is a positive step

A quote from March cytomic newsletter

[top] Note to Logic Users

The Logic 9.1.0 32 bit bridge does not currently support sidechains and blanks out the interface when it first loads - you have to click away from The Glue and it redraws properly. These two bugs are known issues that Apple will fix with the 9.1.2 update which will be released soon.

Is anyone actually using Logic in 64bit yet?

I've done a full track in it -- composed and mixed.

The bridge is a pain in the ass, but all of my FX plug-ins worked (Waves, Softube, Audio Damage, SoundToys, others) without problem.

Hopefully it will address issues effectively spreading the CPU resources required across all cores !!

I'm working in 64 bit with VSL (which now has a 64 bit plug in sampler host) and ESX

9.1.1 should be around the corner at least...
Mainstage 2.1.1 update came up today for me. Maybe old news...

Yeah Logic & Mainstage updates usually come the same day. So it shouldn't be long now. Maybe a week tops.

Those of you hoping for new features or tons and tons of bugfixes, I don't think we'll get those.

I rather suspect that we'll get the more immediate bugfixes for the features that were new in 9.1.0

Mainstage's update notes only say:

"This update delivers improved compatibility and numerous fixes.

Issues addressed in MainStage 2.1.1 include:

Improved stability of the 32-Bit Audio Unit Bridge
Fixed problems that caused audible artifacts when using the Playback or Loopback plug-ins"

...so don't expect too much.

Yeah, that would be nice. Or fix the memory leaks.

Apparently not. I read the ProKit update only deals with certain graphics issues. I haven't installed it myself yet.

The ProKit update was confusing. It said it was a "Leopard Update," though it showed up on my software update for 10.6.2.

But either way, I'm still getting memory leaks in 9.1 32-bit.

I think the next LP9 update (9.1.1 or 9.1.2) will be released after OSX-SL (10.6.3) is released, which should be out in the very near future.

OSX-SL 10.6.3 will offer additional improvements to LP9, so my guess is a LP9 update will be needed to fully utilize the new improvements 10.6.3 offers.

Anymore info on 9.1.2?

I'd like for key commands like marker navigation to work when 3rd party plugs are in focus (used to work in 9.0.1).

I'd like to have hyper threading working properly so I can get one of the new MacBook Pros.

Developers will sometimes seed fixes to their 3rd party partners and call them "9.1.2" or whatever and then wait to release the fixes in version 10. I wouldn't put much stock in developer reports like that, might have been happy speak from their liaison at Apple. Clearly it's been too long for another dot release.

Yep it seems so...There are some obvious fixes we need that would make things better. We'll probably see 10 maybe sometime soon. I don't think they would wait till years end for a update and I think they would of released a .2 update by now

According to Waves (the audio software developer) they don't get anything from Apple before everyone else does.

Wishful thinking. I wouldn't expect to see it until next year, but it would be a pleasant surprise.

+1. Usually 2 years between release cycles for Logic.

With possible release of iLife '11 later this year (includes Garageband) it might be another year before Logic 10.

They will probably call it Logic X like they did with the OS, Sounds Pretty cool too.
