Propellerhead record success ?

so do you think propellerhead record has been as successful as expected ?

I wonder if it's been a good seller ?

It's just I bought Reason 2,3&4 however Record just didn't appeal to me if they had released reason 5 instead I'd of bought it.

I think it was the dongle that finally put me off as I already own syncrosoft & ilok the last thing I wanted was another dongle.

I assume this thread will attract many record users but I wonder if there is many loyal Reason users outhere who turned their back on record as the way I see it their wasting resourses making a DAW when they could of been making Reason 5 which will probebly never happen.

Propellorheads always maintained that Record is not a DAW

It looks like a self contained DAW to me lol, but that's not the point of the thread

I love it. I use it to incorporate live vocals and guitar into my Reason tracks. I use Reason/Record to compose and then I rewire it back into PT8 and use any other plugins (BFD2 for drums etc) that I want access to. Sometimes I have no need to go back into PT8 and I just mix out of Record.

The fact that it functions like Reason 4 and then allows you to add audio as you see fit is just a bonus.

If I know i'm not going to need Audio then i'll just use Reason 4 (keep it a little more simple interface wise)

Maybe the next version will have everything incorporated into one program instead of two. Time will tell.

I think once hardcore Reason users realize how much better the Record mixer and sound engine are, they'll come leaping over. My Reason instrumentals sound way better in Record, it's a no brained as far as I'm concerned.

Is it possible to record singing into microphone in Record, and then convert that wave into midi notes using Neptune?
