VST distortion plug for Drums

I'm looking for some distortion plugs to experiment adding to the drum bus. anyone else doing something similar? I like the lo-fi plug in Pro tools but I'm looking for something for my Nuendo rig. ideas?

Brandon

I used steinberg's "Da Tube " on some drums yesterday and it was pretty convincing

One of my favorite plugins right now is the Blue Tubes driver - I think thats what its called. I has filter section, distortion and a noise gate. The noise gate never seems to work for me but the other two are extremely useful to me.

Try Ruby Tube. It's free too, and great on overheads.

If you have the UAD, don't forget Preflex (the stripped-down version of Nigel) for this application. It can do wonders if you want to mix in a little of the insane. Also along these lines is Anderton's Quadrafuzz. Both on the extreme side, but sometimes that's just the ticket.

There are a lot of free ones...CamelphatFree, Cyanide2, Chimp, etc. These may or may not do the trick, depending on what you're looking for. A good resource for any sort of VST plug is KvR. They have an effective, well-thought-out search engine.

You simply have to sort through a lot of drek to find what works for you. Kind of like the rest of life.
