Is Logic Amp Designer better than Amplitube, Guitar Rig, TH1, etc?

Is the combination of Logic's Amp Designer/Pedalboard better than IK Amplitube 2, NI Guitar Rig 4, Overloud TH1, Waves GTR3, and the others?

I'm starting to think, just maybe, it actually is.

And I've never been a fan of the stock Logic plug-ins.

Any input on Amp Designer/Pedalboard's strengths and weaknesses? The only things I've noticed so far are no bass amp models, and the ugly/over-colorfulness GUI designs of the pedals.

Amp Designer sounds pretty damn good i think.
the clean tones and crunch are very good, but the high-gain tones are nothing short of aweful, which is a shame.

i'm not a fan of Pedalboard, everything seems to have a weird brittle/nasal sound to it, almost as if it was designed to appeal to n00bs running their guitar into the line-in on their macbook, and monitoring through the built-in speakers.

some of the delays and modulation effects in there are nice though.

Is Studio Devil Virtual Bass Amp still the best option for "amping" a DI'd bass? I remember it used to be the best, or at least my favorite, but I haven't checked the others in about a year.

Define 'better'...

Isn't 'better' always subjective and highly dependable on the situation? Is a U47 'better' than a SM58? Or is a Strat 'better' than a Les Paul? I couldn't tell you...

i haven't used the others but i was pleasantly surprised with logic 9's amp designer! i've had L9 for quite a while and hadn't bothered with the amp designer until the other night.

My Recordings/Credits

IMO? no

i've tried amplitube 2, amplitube metal, amplitube fender, amplitube jimi hendrix, ampeg svx, guitar rig 2 and guitar rig 3

amp designer reminds me a bit of guitar rig 2.. ouch

only one i use out of all of them now is ampeg svx

i was never really happy with amplitube 2 so got a peavey classic 30 for $300 and im upgrading the speaker and getting some pedals to get some versatility out of it

now im happy
