zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Did you say something?

But hey, you can get TWO Bomb Factory plugins for an extra $25... guess they're finally getting hip to the actual value of these things.

No mention of PTLE ADC...back to sleep...

i've been writing in Live 4 recently... way cool... tho i still mix in PTs. v7 looks like a let down on paper, it's all stuff they should have put into 6.

the most interesting thing to me is 3rd party hardware support... maybe M-audio will make some kind of 16 channel digital i/o box

Nope, seems to me they included a lot of the things Logic guys use to claim superiority with regard to MIDI functions. You get all the live MIDI processing stuff, all the cool region specific tasks, the virtual instrument track, the REX and ACID file drag and drop support, etc., etc.

The most glaring ommission would be notation - though anyone who is serious about that is using Sibelius.

I think it looks like a decent update.
With DINR and Synchronic (in my case) for $75, it's a great value.

PT is getting logical

Sounds good to me. 7 has some new features that I definately will use, coz I used them YEARS ago in Logic : real time midi processing, audio loops, zoom toggle enhancements, mirrored midi editing mode, remove duplicates, select / split notes, the list goes on...

I've also used Logic for a long time, 10 years to be exact.
But I have to say that I'd rather use PT instead of Logic for mixing.
Now, if they could release a sampler, a drum editor, a burning app, a looper..etc...

So your saying you don't think the "Slightly Rude Compressor" is worth every penny of 495.00?

why does everyone act like that... the yawning and stuff? im not being defensive, im really curious. as far as i know PT is an amazing tool and i make a good living using it everyday. sure it can seem overpriced and stick it to you sometimes but i would be making allot less money of it didn't exist, and i ebjoy working on it! im very happy about these new features and am anxious to use them. sure they dont blow my mind but only boytar does that

Lots of aging jaded individuals in this industry complain about anything, and everything under the sun. Of course these are the same people who are probably making music with PT that would make you
Personally i'm really looking forward to using PT7, and am really excited about the new features.

Freeze would be nice but to be honest I haven't run out of DSP since they started using RTA's as well as TDM. And with HD Accel I'm no where near running out of DSP. I could see it being useful for LE users though. Quick solution - save your settings as a preset, select the track, open the same plug-in in Audiosuite, recall the preset and hit process. I just tried it, took me 15 seconds. I think I can deal without freeze.

I agree with you on the choice of plugins; I'm just bustin their nuts. It seems to me that in this day and age, a DAW should have delay compensation. All the other Native DAW guys wanna put as much good stuff as they can in their product; and of course, some do have 'lesser' versions, but only one of 'em has an HD version, which means that PTLE users are just gonna be deprived of some of the features with the most percieved value, and not because the app. can't run 'em but because it'd take away another reason to drop the money on an HD rig.

If we had taken a vote on the new features we wanted for PTLE, I wouldn't mind betting that the top 3 would have been:

ADC/PDC
Increased audio track limit
Freeze tracks

I'm sure Digi know that, and I'm sure that the amount of work that has gone into the upgrades that they have produced could have given us these 3 instead.

We all understand why...it's just a shame that business decisions take precedence over customer satisfaction.

Freeze is for when you're running lots of soft synths, not signal processing plugs. Totally different story, and you run out of CPU/DSP very quickly. Having to buss record to another track is not difficult, but tedious (and time consuming as it's real-time).

Don´t get me wrong : I don´t like Logic. Well, I used to until the guys at Emagic released 6 and pissed me off.

I´m PT user since a couple of years now and never looked back, because a lot of details are less complicated (yes, even more logical ) and more focused on workflow. If the new features are well implemented (and I bet they are since Digi did it in the past), PT will make my life a lot easier. I wish they had included the aforementioned features before.

True, they could deal with some issues way sooner.

The weird thing is, the feature I like most about the new one is like the most insignificant of them all. Finally, you can click drag send assignments like you can do with plug-in inserts.

I'm disappointed there are no synths added to PT though, but hopefully soon.

Insignificant ??? HELL NO ...... That and 10 of them is amongst my favourites and are HUGE improvements in your daily workflow imo.

Interesting.... Is it available in other languages as well...?

EDIT: Never mind... I checked it out... Only this available.... Seems Digi is serious about getting into the Chinese market.
