I still struggle with the distortion that is introduced. In my small world, I am getting problems with all the plugins after the preamp plugin (because the distortion is kinda.. not so nice..).

I've been using it on busses (Drums,Guitars, Bass and Master ) with nothing following the Preamp and tweaked the presets a little. Really helped to get the mix together from scratch. But I think when overtone you can get some sort of the sound you get from digital clipping - crackly kinda stuff. New mix coming in today for the next 7 days (some rough and dirty Black Metal Stuff) let's see how the Preamp does with introducing some more grit and dirt instead of glueing things together more.

Just tried the demo of this + Voxengo's Varisaturator, Stillwells BadBuss Mojo and Bootsies Ferric TDS and Tessla Pro.

So far Redline Preamp is my favorite!! It adds a subtle density to the 2 buss helping to get that analogue sound!!

Hehe... that's because Redline Preamp *is* very generic! In fact it doesn't try to emulate any specific piece of gear but instead models a number of sonic characteristics that are common to most analogue hardware (preamps, tubes, but also tape). By adjusting the various controls--or choosing a preset, if you're lazy --you can dial in a lot of different analogue-style flavors, some very tube preamp-like in character, other perhaps more reminiscent of tape or consoles.

And while it probably won't give you the *exact* (for example) Neve sound in an A/B comparison, it will do many differerent convincing analogue console imitations. You'll see--I mean: hear!

yes, finally: some truth. I love it. Loving the Monitor & PreAmp.
