| Mindreader | 10.2.6 memory leak
If anyone out there finds their mac going slow after a good few hours, they may be experiencing a memory leak. A memory leak is when some part of the sytem that deals with what the memory is being used for at one particular time goes a bit wrong and starts taking more memory to do, well, something it THINKS is important but in fact is just stealing your memory, or leaking it. This can also lead to 'pageouts', which you shouldn't get at all, Anyway, its not just me, a lot of people are having it with 10.2.6. If you think your computer is going slow check your memory against how many apps you are running and have a look at Process Viewer. So far no ones managed to trace it down to an app, not even hidden ones used by Unix. It's a mystery! It just might mean you have to reboot every 5 hours.
