computer shuts down by itself

Lately my computer started to think for himself and one in a while he just shuts down by itself without any warnings.
It happens usually when P.T 8 is open,i have a intel quad PC 2 Gig ram and more.
Any ideas?

Definitely open her up and check for dust accumulations and like the previous post, be sure the fans are unobstructed. Usually when they shut down on their own its a fail-safe to keep the components from frying from overheating. Good luck.

also check your bios for USB power on/off.

I had a simular issue where my PC would turn on at night.
In my bios my USB wireless keyboard was power cycling my PC when it lost connection from dying battery.

I agree with the others, give a good blast of compressed air.
You might also lift the fan off the CPU and make sure you have any arctic silver left?

Get yourself a can of canned air, blow out all the dust. If that doesn't help it could be your computer is overheating when PT is open. My graphics card does this when i try to play high quality computer games.
