2009 turned out to be a pretty reverberant year.
And it's getting crazier.
Check out the upper right hand corner.
Yup.

Lex 480?... This thread Quote:

Please read this carefully, this is NOT a Bricasti product, nor do I have anything to do with the company! stike

| Cool!!
Taking in to account the brands that plugindiscounts.com carry, the post about a european developer, the gui on the preset dropdown menu and that it's a native plugin. I suspect this is an IK Multimedia product !
I could be wrong. But it's just my guess!!
Looking forward to hearing it, specially if somebody from Bricasti thinks it's cool!
Peace

A reasonably priced reverb, no iLok, reasonable cpu-usage and über-sound...? Give it to me!

Daniel | Not really sure what you're obsession with DSP cards is.. but if this is the same plugin that Casey is talking about (quoted above) then it's native, which means no DSP.
I can tell you that my Mac Pro has a lot more cycles available than my UAD2 Quad does... and there's no flippin' way I'm shelling out $1200+ on another card to run more instances. I'll build a nice Core i7 farm machine or two long before that happens.
Back to the topic at hand.... let the official Lexicon plugin vs the (insert devloper's name here) L480 plugin war begin!!

what a timing! haha! battle of the lexicons? if this here is way less than 1900$ and really GOOD, and it looks good already, lexicon themselves could have a hard time with their annouced price..

Casey mentioned in another thread that he knew of a certain 480 like plugin by a EU developer was coming out by the end of the year that supposedly nailed the sound. Sounded more like this was a independent developer than one of the big ones.

- c | Agree 100%. And yes, soon (it could mean a few months still) we're going to see something which has been described to me from the dev as "totally revolutionary within the reverb industry". Can't tell you more, sorry.
Maybe it's the same thing that Casey was mentioning, we'll see...
That said, since this is a New Product Alert section and there are no actual products to be discussed at the moment, it would be better to put the whole thing in standby for now.

There have been numerous 480 emulations in the past in both hardware and software form and none of them satisfied people.
I hope the new one does but still, I do not think it will hurt the Lexicon PCM plug since that one has the actual (and not emulated) PCM96 algos FWIW.
My 2 Canadian cents

My 2 Canadian cents | I think its safe to say if Casey said they nailed it, it'll be pretty awesome.

Maybe it's a new plug from PSP Audioware.
They already did the Lex PCM42.
C'mon guys throw out your dorstep Lex 480L and get the new plugin recreation.
If you're to lazy to bring it to your dumpster i'll help you and take it off your hands.
As always the real deal will sound much better. But who knows...

Uh, you guys did see that it was on a WAVES page, right?
That means iLok, native, etc... unless Tony just has the Waves info on that page by accident.

I followed the link given by the OP. Then I clicked on the pic of Lexicon and it went to a larger pic of the plugin. Right above it is a Waves banner...can't remember what it said. Once I saw the Waves logo I was out...they can keep it!!!

Waves afaik is developed in Israel which afaik isn't a part of Europe, so unless Casey has his geography all wrong , I dont' think it is by Waves.
