Relab LX480 is advantage in terms of dynamic and linearity against the 480L hardware. Lexicon 480L will sound different if you connect it with some decent cable or when you connect it with Mogami Gold Studio Quad Neglex. That is the very well known fact. Not to mention when you connect it on Neve console or some TAC older console..or ...etc.
Of course cables make a difference, especially on sources and patches. But on an effect return, between a .....Gold and another cable, don't expect to hear much to any difference.

Now I wouldn't do anything illegal. But I would kill a man, in front of his own mother, for a Relab LX480 reverb.

Wow, I imagine Martin will get a kick out of these quotes.

Understandable, you wouldn't want to do something unreasonable.

Those sound demos posted here and there don't do this reverb justice. I nearly skeeted just now replacing my old verbs with the Relab in a mix.

The Relab LX480... Strong enough for an OTB, but made for an ITB.

Last one, I promise. dfegad

I'm wondering why nobody did a plug like this before.
The LX480 isn't that pcu hungry so it should have been possible years before i think. It looks like it's not because of the pcu but because of the designer?

Good reverb is art.

There's also experience. I believe Martin from Relab also did CSR which is no where near as good as this plug. He has obviously learned a lot over the past few years. Lexicon is so good because they have been doing it for decades. Not just anybody can just pop in and make a good plugin reverb out of no where which is the case of a lot of plugin developers.

I am just speculating though.

I just paid for my LX480 - this is a club I just had to join.

Martin has definately reached that point in his work where any differences with the "actual hardware" are too small to bother me in the slightest.

This a 480L as much as my UAD EMT250 is an EMT250!
Both these reverbs do that amazing envelope thing that is just so darn .. sexy.

All I need now is a 224XL and I promise myself I will never ever buy another reverb plugin. Ever! (unless of course Martin models an RMX16 :-)

Happy Days
