Do Protools LE sessions convert to HD systems?

Hi

I'm sending a song from Australia to the US to be mixed. The mixer needs it in ProTools format.

I recorded the project in SAWstudio.

The mixer doesn't need any automation or plugs or anything like that. He just wants contiguous audio files, named and in order (drums, guitars, vocals). He will then mix from scratch.

What's the best way of doing this? My friend had a ProTools LE system. If I load up my .wavs into that, will I be able to save it in a format that the Mixer can use in his PT HD system?

Are MAC and PC ProTools session compatible?

If my friend is busy with his system, would I be able to load PT LE onto my machine (even though I don't have Digidesign hardware), and then load in the .wavs and save the session, ready to send? I know I want be able to hear the files , since I don't have the right hardware, but will the software still install, and allow me to laod in the files?

Thanks!

Midge

easy.

all you need to do is create the contiguous files in SAW, ( all files starting from 0 )

rename the files correctly if they arent already, and then export all the files ( wav ) to a folder.

burn a disk, send him the files. you don't need to put it in Ptools. The mixer will just import the files into a new session.

make a note of sample rate for him and not a bad idea to give him a rough mix as well as a stereo file.
Yes mac and PT files are compatible, but you need to check "enforce mac/pc compatibility" when opening up the new session
easy as pie, done everyday all over the globe.

That's all true as far as it goes...
the other parts are:
YES, LE translates into HD seamlessly, he just opens the session.

and NO, you won't be able to run LE on your machine without the associated Digidesign hardware.
