Laptop for tracking, suggestions?

I'm starting to realize how much out of room recording I'm doing and will be looking at laptops. Firewire on a cheaper laptop seems to be rare so I'm gonna ask for help! I need one that has firewire or a cardslot for adding it. At LEAST dual core 2ghz, or minimum specs for Nuendo 3/4. I don't need to do any mixing or fancy stuff. I just need for instance, a way to record drums with my interface then dump the project files to my studio computer for everything else. So...ideas? Thanks in advance! Also, looking for the cheapest possible!

How many tracks to you plan to record at once?

To give you an idea, I'm only doing 1 track via a Rode Podcaster on a Lenovo S10 Netbook (Atom 1.6ghx/2GB/160GB HHD). I'm able to definitely record at 24/96 with around 50-60% CPU usage through Audacity. All in XP with A/V et al resident softwares running in the background.

So depending how many tracks you need to do at once, you may have to pony up big dollars for basically a portable workstation lol

I would suggest keeping an eye on the Mac refurb store. If you want to make music and not take chances you really don't have any other choice.
