Waves Vocal Rider Problem

First off just wanted to say I've really enjoyed this program in the 1st couple hours of playing with it. Seems well thought out and like it's going to be a big time saver.
My question for anyone who's gotten this to work: How do I get this plugin to write the automation data to the protools automation track? I tried the following:
1. hit write on the plug.
2. engages write on the track
3. hit play
4. automation writes, but it's just a static line (also, the protools fader won't automate when I move it during this so vocal rider does seem to have control)

Any clues?

Thanks!

Ah ha! It seems the way it works is that one engages the plugin's fader to automate. It doesn't automate the main protools volume track like I assumed.

I think you need to engage write on the track first and then hit write on the plug-in. Listen carefully around 2:12.

Hello,
Did you solve your problem? Because I have exactly the same and no real answer from Waves support.
My configuration is : Pro Tools HD 8 + Vocal Rider 7 + Command 8
Thank's
Damien.

Guys click on the plugin. Where you select what parts of the plugin you want to automate select rider fader( I think that's what it's called not at PC at the mo) then on the track with the plugin on go to view (eg wave form, blocks etc) and you should see one that says rider fader select that. In the plugin select write. Press play and it should write the automation for you. Hope this helped
