| Lives for gear | track count bottle neck ?
can anyone look at this setup and tell me where you think my bottle neck is ... 13 to 14 tracks per drive at 24/96 ... i would like to get 32 to 48 tracks at 24/96 G4 dual 1gig with max 1.5 gigs ram dual SATA PCi card - 2 SATA seagate 160gig drives pro tools HD3 with one 192 I/O os 10.3.8 pro tools 6.9.1 thank you john |

in simple terms: track counts relate to your hard drives plugin counts relate to your processor speed virtual instrument counts relate to your ram it's something to do with your drives/bus architecture. you say "dual SATA". are they in a raid-0 formation? raid-0 is the simplest way to improve drive performance. also, remember 96k pounds on drives. |
