Ilok is working in 64bit here, it's about time that other companies like Lexicon, SSL, SPL and so on join Spectrasonics, EW, Melodyne etc.

Any sampler should be 64 bit, to acquire additional RAM.

Why does an algorithmic reverb need to be 64 bit?

To work with a 64bit host and not require the bit bridge.

Is the bridge still a problem? I haven't used Logic in a while but it was smooth sailing last I tried.

Not using the bridge would be easier, but it seems rather inconspicuous when in use.

The large majority of the 100+ plugins I use are still 32 bit. It's a VERY slow process for the industry as a whole.

I haven't had any problems with the bridge since last update. What I have had is noise problem with the LexRoom plug. Every time I load a project with the plug I have to close and reload the plug or i'll get noise (64bit and 32bit modes of logic).

Several people had an issue with noise but the last update seemed to make it go away. Are you using the most current version of PCM?

If so, Lex may still have some work to do.

Not everyone uses Logic like you, mister.
For example, cubase 6 64bits doesn't work with lexi pcm bundle at all. And for example, Vengeance plugins (which is 32 bits actually) works perfect.
I use Lexi and Waves stuff via JBridge. Not very good workaround for these plugins (not very cheap in the plugins market).

I don't use Logic - I use ProTools. I have Logic but only for opening other people's Logic sessions when necessary.

I have VCC with iLok2 and can't say I've noticed any load issues what so ever, this on a MP 6core machine.

Depends on how the developer codes the plugins. I've been spending a lot of time understanding performance issues with the new security. What I've learned will also be applied to the new rev of the PCMFX plugins (the only iLok2 stuff we're currently shipping) as well. All in all, it's not much different from performance with the old iLok. I do suspect that the first generation of iLok2 plugs from most manufacturers will have some issues, but I expect they'll get straightened out.

I think that the vast majority of GS readers come by their plugins honestly. I'm sure that I speak for every developer when I say that we don't like to put people through this security rigamarole. We all keep at it until the experience is as smooth as possible. I guess it beats getting felt up at the airport.

I am very late to this thread but I just wanted to take a moment and thank NS and the Lexicon team for giving us the PCM Native Reverb.

In the past I have owned several of the lower-end Lex boxes like the MX200 and the MPX100...and while in their own way they were OK I always longed for a "real" Lexicon reverb. (BTW the MPX100 was actually quite good even though it was not really editable...I often think Lexicon made a sort of goof when they released it because it sounded much better than it should have.)

I recently demo'd and then subsequently purchased the PCM Native Reverb... it really offers the sound I had wanted to achieve for so long but had been unable to reproduce. I struggled with the amazing expense of this software and wanted to find an alternative that would save me from having to pluck down the cash...but ultimately I couldn't get past that great sound.

I tried many of the new generation of algorithmic reverb plugs from various developers...several are quite amazing in their own right...but the sound I was looking for was directly represented in the PCM Native.

About the best testament I can give to show how nice I think this set of plugs is....is that I have literally spent the last few days just loading different sampler patches and getting lost PLAYING in the beautiful reverb.

I can think of no one plugin that has to date fundamentally changed the way I compose and mix the way this one has. It has now become an integral part of my sound palette.

So again...thanks NS. Amazing piece of work.

Does anyone here own Lexicon PCM native bundle? If so, I have a question for you.

When I use the hall or concert hall for a huge reverb for say a very full frequency 3+second reverb tail, I sometimes produce artefacts in that high end spectrum (clicks/pops of sudden reverberated noise) and I am not sure as to why.

My copy was bought legitimately and I am a little baffled as to why this may be happening

Edit: I think it might be my soundcard on my project studio PC not being up to scratch. The buffer is at full, but it still occurs, maybe when I use my superior sound interface it would stop? Any other people had concerns with anything of a similar vain?

In all seriousness I have not noticed any extra load time at all with VCC since it went from the public beta on iLOK1 to the new iLOK2 and if anything it even loads faster than it did before.
As with all iLOK plugs, it is the first instance that seems to take the time to load, and on my old XP PC the biggest bugbear I have with time issues is not the iLOK2 (or any of the 7 other dongles on this rig) at all, but the blasted external USB drive when I forget to unplug it.
No matter what I do, it goes to sleep and I have to wait every time I open an explorer window for it to wake up.

it's not the extra load time with ilok2 plugins that's a issue. It's the opening of the plugin gui. It used to be instantaneous. Now it takes 3 to 5 seconds.

But only on the first instance, and to be honest I used to have this 3-5 second lag on iLOK original too with certain plugins.
(LX480, URS, Antares etc - all these took time for initial instance to open but once the first is done, the rest are still instant for me)

lexroomnative crashing PT10.1.1.3

HI Michael , i'm getting the same crashing with lexroomnative in PT10.1.1.33 there is a thread on DUC showing my crash log , will you be able to post a fix ?

Hi,

How does the lexicon plugins stack up against some of their discontinued rack units?

Should I look into these plugins instead of getting hardware off ebay?

Cheers,
BP

These plugs are better then most of their low priced boxes and some even expensive ones. In plugin world they are pretty much best thing you can buy at the moment. There are other awesome plugs to (softube, relab etc.).

However i never found decent replacement for PCM 91. This is awesome reverb and not even Lex PCM suite cover it. This is imho of course.

I'm afraid I won't be able to post a fix personally, since I haven't been with Harman for three months. Although I stay in touch with friends there, I'm not sure what the plans are regarding ongoing support. Do send your crash log to customer support there--it should get to whoever's currently responsible.

Michael, the question is: "Is there somebody there who is responsible and capable?"

The fact that there is no clear answer (as apparently you don't even know) scares the bejesus out of those of us who paid top-dollar for these plugins. And we have good reason to be scared as this is NOT the first time Lexicon has dropped the ball!

Companies can do their part to fight piracy by providing support for the products they sell. I chose to purchase this product in support of Lexicon and you (due to your representation here which I greatly appreciated). There were other "easier and cheaper" options though. I hope Lexicon makes it right for paying customers and supporters of their products.

btw, can't you work out a contract deal that keeps us all happy? Maybe work remotely from your retirement resort on the lake or whatever?

Well, thank you for your support and participation here - even after the fact. Much appreciated.

I hope there is somebody, but honestly though, I'd rather have Nobody in charge.

Michael thanks for replying anyway. I must admit skimming the forum whilst sweating on a solution to meet deadline I did miss that you'd left Harman. Good luck with your next ventures.

I hope they address these issues too. Even though I no longer have anything to do with the company, I still carry a lot of pride for the products I was part of. I spent much more time under the hood working on invisible things than I did with the features you see. It was something with DP. Or Wavelab. Or PT. That's the way it is. I do hope Harman finds somebody with talent and dedication who will do those things in my stead. In the meantime, I'm afraid it's up to customers like you to make some noise.

And please don't make that noise to the support people. They work so hard with so little support from in-house. It may not always seem like it, but they're the good guys. I think you'll need to speak to people much farther up the food chain in Harman Pro.

I have a leaky sink in the bathroom. It's not a lake yet, but it could be if I don't do something about it. That's going to have to do for a resort, I'm afraid.

Really like PCM Native more than Altiverb -
but 9 times out of 10 actually prefer our old PCM91 when mixing.
