Odd Cubase 5 problem

When using certain VSTi's, notably East West, Hypersonic 2 & some Arturia, I get a blank screen in the VSTi edit window. The buttons will re-appear one-at-a-time when the mouse is moved over them but if I close and re-open the window it will be blank again. This is an intermittent problem and doesn't affect all VSTi's on all tracks or any other aspect of Cubase (mixer, inserts, eq etc are all fine). If I quit the program and restart, the edit screens are usually ok again (for a while).

I've checked that all drivers, firmware & software versions are up-to-date, including graphics & mobo drivers.

I've not seen this problem posted on this or any other forums - I'm beginning to think it's just my bad luck...

Any ideas?

Thanks

I had a similar issue which I mentioned here:

Cubase.net .:::. View topic - NI MASSIVE PLUGIN GUI DISAPPEARS

Didn't seem to affect the East West plugins for me, but is still causing problems with some of the Arturia ones.

Also affected Stylus RMX for a while but an update fixed that. According to Spectrasonics it was affecting users who had multiple monitors in conjunction with the /3GB switch.

Good luck!

Thanks Oliver.

I had a read through those forum threads and it would seem that 'luck' plays a large part in resolving (or not!) this prob. At least it appears I'm not the only one with the problem - there's plenty of suggestions on the cubase.net forum but no real solutions that I can see.

Interestingly, one guy suggested that it doesn't affect Steinberg plugs but, for me at least, Hypersonic 2 is one of the worst affected especially if there is more than 1 instance of it.

Do you think this is a Steinberg issue?

I have no issues with any of my Arturia plugins - JP8V, Analog factory and Prophet V in Cubase 5. And my NI plugins (Massive, FM8, B4 II, Guitar Rig 2) all work fine too.
