| 40" LCD or Plasma Display? Have you seen the new NEC LCD's? 30" and 40". http://www.necmitsubishi.com/product...c_id_index.cfm I have been contemplating getting a 42" plasma screen for use with both Protools and dv-video playback. Hi-res capability will probably be important in the near future. What I'm wondering, besides the standard problem of which aspect-ratio to choose, is whether an LCD would be superior or inferior to the plasma. Any thoughts? The 40" LCD is about the same price as the lesser plasmas. AND, it supports 16 million colors (hi res, I think) and also higher computer resolutions than the plasma. The LCD also uses a lot less power. It seems, just going on specs, that the 40" LCD is a no-brainer. However, is there a serious diference in the look? I also have seen a 37" Hitachi plasma @ $8,000. That one is definitely hi-definition, so are the lesser plasmas NOT? I'm getting pretty confused.... |
