Reaktor 5-Who's made the upgrade?

I love Reaktor, but cash is a little thin these days...For those who have done the upgrade, how is it? Is the sound quality truly better than 4? Also, how are the signal processing ensembles (like Flatblaster) in 5?

Thanks...

I stupidly bought the upgrade from NI. Can be had much cheaper elsewhere. And, curiously enough, it's been 2 weeks and I still haven't received the sucker . . .

I have received the upgrade. You wont like my answer.

The overall sound quality is better. But by how much is very subjective. I havent checked out the signal processing ensembles yet. Some ensembles like Carbon have been redesigned and take a little less processing power.

I think the major improvement is Core Technology and the fact that it is, at least for me, easier to build ensembles. The manuals have improved and the examples for building ensembles have too. Things are a bit more streamlined and less cluttered. I dont build ensembles, and really dont have time to get deep into Reaktor.

I have been a long time user since 1999 and love Reaktors awsome power and flexability and the fact that you can download hundreds of ensembles by others who have spent lots of time and energy!

So its hard to answer your question as if its worth it. To me its certaily not ground breaking or earth shattering. But then again Core Technology wont impact me much because I dont build ensembles. I would suggest posting more specific questions in the Reaktor users forum and trying out the demo.

I love the new version. Hell, some of the new ensembles are worth the price of the upgrade in my opinion.

I was dissapointed as I dont believe there are any new synthesizer ensembles. There are several taken from Reaktor 4 and improved upon, but nothing new in the syntheizer line.

Maybe Neoverse can shed some light on the new ensembles he is speaking of...

Dear Reaktor fan!

The sonicprojects team announces the remake of the Oberheim OB-X. There's a feature never seen before in any other virtual device: slight individual detune of filters, oscillators and envelopes for every voice individually - like the real device

a real ob-x rev.2 itself was used for endless comparisons and tunes to copy the original behaviour - the result is extraordinary
