Mixing with Wavelab 6! Does it make sense?

Hi people,

i want to buy wavelab 6 for a little post-production!

Sometimes i record some songs too. (up to 32 tracks)

now i wonder if it makes sende to mix a full track with wavelab!

can i pan the tracks within an audio montage? can i enter the bpm?

should i rather go for a sequencer like protools or sonar?

best!

I am not 100% sure whether it is really impossible to do this in WaveLab, But for sure, it will be no fun.

What is it that you like about WaveLab? I mean if this is your favourite audio editing tool, why not get a budget friendly sequencer (Cubase Essential, Reaper, ...) for recording and mixing and do with WaveLab what you think/know it is good at?

BTW I have WaveLab Studio and never missed any of the extra features of the big WaveLab. But I do stereo only.

thanks for your reply!

i want to buy wavelab 6 full version because of the "external gear plugin"!

i really think it is a smooth way to insert my hardware into the master channel.

i used to work with pro tools le for mixing, but since i want to get rid of my mbox i have to get rid of pro tools too!

can you recommend me any affordable sequencer for mixing?

what about cakewalk sonar 8?

(never liked cubase at all)

ad sequencer: Reaper has a fully functional demo and the pay version is reasonably priced. I also had a "Samplitude LE" or so, which was pretty un-pricey too. But I do not claim to really know these products.

ad external Hardware: I am completely unfamiliar with this stuff so do NOT trust me. Anyway: Today's KVR newsletter came with the following (a freebie VST plugin that communicates with ASIO, or so):
KVR: Christian Budde releases Bugpass (lite) and VST interfaced ASIO-Host
No idea how this works but maybe it helps you.
