I love my Digi 001 even if it is a bit rough..
I just want a Digi set up to run Logic on!!

My Studio 4/882 was good and now the unitor/001 is fine..

It seems to be getting harder to put a Digi set-up together at a reasonable cost that will run as a front for Logic??

It seems impossible!

If you are using Logic why limit yourself to just a digi rig?

probably because traditionally Digidesign have been very clever with the Mac and I still believe them to be the best..what might you do if you upgraded at the moment?

ooooh... Good Question. Mind if I answer it?

I've never heard an unhappy RME Fireface user... Flogs current Digi gear soundwise too.

And most Metric Halo users seem to love there gear.

If I had the money i'd be getting a Lynx Audio AES16 and a new Lynx Aurora unit or a Rosetta 800...

I guess it all boils down to what you need... but unless i was using protools, I wouldn't touch digi hardware. Then again I don't like digidesign so im kind of bias.

This happens with every track, in solo, without plugins nor fades. Happens in playback just after i record something. When i use the dc offset plugin on the track it "cleans" that click. I just don“t know why I am having it.
Thanks anyway

Or are you playing back at a large buffer size, like 1028? I hope this helps, good luck

Could Digi be so generous? Judging by the vast "improvement" the Mbox 2 has brought, maybe I shouldn't hold my breath.

Happy speculation everybody!

on the money! although, i don't care if it must be in a 2u rack.

i'd also love a control surface something like the control 24, but no pre's n converters and crap. just the basics (with the meters) and maybe 32 channels.

Well, it looks like fall AES is coning to a close, and it looks like no Digi 003. Perhaps in the spring.

Hmmm.... maybe I can borrow someone's Digi 002 until then.

Seriously though, I didn't realize it until now, but this thread was started last year . People have been expexting this peice of gear for a loooooong time. It's coming, sooner or later. Though as evidenced by this fall' AES, it looks like later seems like the safer bet of the two.

I just got an Alesis HD24 JUST so I can record 24 tracks at a time live. It is SO much easier and more reliable than PTLE that I may not even need to 003... if it ever...

He's right, that's just nuts. There's a world of interface options out there for Logic.

A dedicated piece of hardware will be more reliable than any system built atop a general-purpose PC, in almost every case. I've never heard a bad thing about the HD24, which is pretty amazing considering it's an Alesis prodcut.

Just out of curiosity, can you stream audio from an HD24's drives to your DAW with the fireport? If yes, a HD24 with a couple 500G drives + M-Audio's Lightbridge and a laptop make for pretty nifty live recording rig.

Seriously? I had a Digi002R and it was hell with Logic in comparison to my Mackie 400F that I got. Also the Mackie sounds better (loads I think). More stability, a low-latency mixer, etc.

I miss the ADAT connectors, but oh well. Can always expand.

If u need to open PT sessions get an Mpowered or Mbox.

Why would you use the Fireport? You can just connect the HD24's three optical outputs directly to the Lightbridge's optical inputs.

Yeah, i was hoping for an 003 but i would wait till Namm. Digi typically releases products in Dec as well. Then if not, go for an alternative. I checked out the Lightbridge (AES). I believe PT 7.3 will be compatible or optimized for Lightbridge.

Ahh, so it was at AES, good, can you tell us more?
Like what sample rate will it work with M-Powered, clocking etc...
Thanks,

Well, to record & read from the drives... So basically use it has converter/drive --->
Lightbridge--->Protools.

Fela, i assumed that it would be ok with 96 but i would double check that if i were you. Mbox Pro2 doesn't clock externally with 96 but i believe M-A/MPowered is ok like on an 1814. Lightbridge looks potentially great if it all works the way we hope it does. I will wait till after Namm to buy something and get all the details. Either M-audio/Mpowered or 003 solution.

i'm pretty sure they wont drop mac support for pt.

i'm guessing that the next pt hardware will be a ethernet box with ins outs and processing power... although, i'm just guessing
