Any similar books as the Apple Pro Training series: Logic 8 for Pro Tools 8?

I'm trying get grips of Pro Tools 8 and David Nahmani's book worked really good for learning Logic. Is there any similar books for PT8? Something that has lessons you got to go through not just reading?

peace

There is a book i purchased cheap from amazon called 'producing in the home studio with pro tools' . The author is David Franz. Be sure to get volume 3 which is the newest edition. It happens to be about 7.3.4 which was the last revamp of PT before 8 but don't let that throw you off. He covers all the bases of recording mixing mastering and references a lot of third party plugs and rewire apps with examples and it comes with instructional CDrom. I found after reading this book and then reading all the info on the PT ver 8 additions and updates at digidesign plus watching their youtube channel ver 8 tutorials which you could knock out in a half an hour, that i had a firm grasp of PT8. I have not seen a book yet about 8 though. I bought this book for 15 dollars on amazon. It retails for 35.

there must be more up to date books than that - 7.3 is quite old now - most studios have been running 7.4 for a couple of years.

It's not a book, but try Groove3. They have tons of tutorial videos, many of them on Pro Tools 8 specifically. It's a subscription service, but they have a few free videos to try it out first, and there are also short-term subscription packages. I've learned a lot!

yep, my bad. typo i meant 7.4.3.

saw 3 different books about PT8 on amazon. Don't know anything about them though.

Groove 3.com is pretty good. One payment of $13.99 gets you 24 hour access to their PT8 tutorials for 30 days. Don't know if the tutorials are worth buying though as they can run any where from $25 to $40. and you would have to buy several to get the full picture. I'd rather put that toward some Plugs or something.
