Post The Liquid Mix Assets Pictorial Guide

As much as I enjoy using Liquid Mix, it's a veritable nightmare to figure out what gear goes with all those funny, short, cryptic names that Focusrite uses for their gear emulations. I assume that is to avoid legal issues with manufacturers. So, being the eager little nerdy geek that I am, I set about to document everything myself and wound up with this lovely 34 page PDF and called it:

The Un-Official Liquid Mix Assets Pictorial Guide

Yes, I know it's already been done before, but this is the LM guide to end all LM guides! (at least for me). It includes all of the newer emulations as well...some are not yet even documented by Focusrite.

I've included a well-organized table of links, sorted both by asset and code names, some of the best pics I could find and descriptions of each component. I've tried to be thorough but I'm sure there will be some discrepancies that I hope you will report back with on this thread. There are a few items in there that still need documentation or pics, so any help is appreciated. Also would love to include any tips or tricks for LM in here as well. Hey, you can't beat the price either... $$ (freebie!) $$

Full Sized Version:
https://share.acrobat.com/adc/docume...3-ca5577b0f711

Booklet Version:
https://share.acrobat.com/adc/docume...9-be3035a14e7f

Enjoy!

thanks for this.

theres also a link for snapshots on here by a guy called "peeder" or something. anyway, he saved all the LM emulations as snapshots with their original names so you can load them straight in.

have a search.

Yes and he did an excellent job. I made my own set as well, but it's also nice to have all of the info and pics in one handy place. Did I mention, if anyone has any tips or tricks for LM or useful advice, discrepancies or comments to please let me know so that it can be published/updated there as well - with credits to you of course. This guide should belong to everybody.

Cheers!

wow this is awesome!

I just need to find a cheap place to do color prints so I don't kill my ink-jet printer.

Thank you very much.

I ran the PDF through

bookletcreator.com

That made a little booklet that you can staple together. So you can do duplex to save paper and it cut the page count down to 18.

Easy for you guys with duplex printers. The rest of us will have to print odds, then flip and do evens.

Turns it into a handy little guide.

+1 on that.

Thanks so much for this. It really increases the value of the LM for me since a number of the emulations are equipment I haven't seen or used.

Thanks to aortizjr, I added a link to a BOOKLET Version for printing. Of course the links in the manual will no longer work, but then, why would they?
(see top post)

Thanks aortizjr!

Can you make a version where the links work on hard copies? Seriously though... thanks for all this. You rock.

But seriously, some of you guys just blow me away. If I only knew half of what I don't know, man. See you around the bend!

You could download the PDF and then save it on your iPhone using an app like "Air Sharing."

Cool

hey, I just wanted to let you know that I put this onto my lifedrive (5 year old TOTL palm pilot that I just got for free because the internal speaker doesn't work... headphones do though ;-). Along with the user manuals for the rest of my audio gear also in pdf and word format, this is the new organizational center of my studio.

your guide is AMAZING. using documents-to-go's pdf reader (which BLOWS away Acrobat Reader Mobile) I can read them perfectly on the 320x480 display.

Now I always know what I'm getting into with my liquid mix.

Fantastic work - focusrite should thank you and publish this on their web page under the support section. They could have made more sales if they'd bothered to put together a document like this.

thanks for the great work and time you took!
