True 8 bit sampling (OSX)

It just occured to me, that in these days of high sampling and bitrates,
I haven't been able to find 1 soft-sampler, that can do true 8 bit sampling.
I've been looking at Morgana, but it's not really 8 bit, instead, it samples
audio to 32bit, and aliases/convolutes? it, but doesn't actually sample it to 8 bit.
Is there a soft-sampler in audiounit-format that does this?
I'm looking for something that does actual destructive 8 bit sampling.

Yes, but it's basically the same; the audiofile remains intact.
Weird that in 2009, there isn't 1 soft-sampler that does destructive
8 bit sampling.

Isn't there a resampling fonction in Soundforge that do this ??

I have to make do with cheating.. Either use the Scream distortion in Reason 4, which has quite a convincing bit reduction effect.
Or, use good ol cheap nasty and downright grungy hardware. This being my preferred choice
