Cubase SX, VST-Instruments Question

Hello all,
I am new to the world of MIDI and Cubase. I am running SX and trying to learn how to use the VST Instruments. I am running this through a Firepod and an M-Audio Oxygen8. When I load the LM-7 drums and try to use the Oxygen I can only get three of the possible hits to play on the keys.....how to I adjust it so I can play all twelve of the different drum sounds on the Oxygen......please help me out I am getting very frustrated over here.

Have you checked the zones on your controller?

How do you check the zones on the keyboard? Thanks for the replies.

Start with your M-Audio manual my friend. You should be able to figure out zones rather quickly. I am using a Keystation Pro-88. It sounds like you might have to set up your controller so all of the keys are in one zone.

All a zone does is split your keyboard so you could play...say...a bass in one octave, and a vibraphone in another octave.

Have you tried transposing the Oxygen 8 down an octave? (Octave shift button or whatever they call it). While not familiar with the particular software you're using, drumsounds are usually mapped with the kick drum on low C and moving up (and sometimes down) from that note.

I'm not sure that the Oxygen 8 has zones. It is only a 25-key controller.

I'll bet that's it.
Funny if it's that simple.
