Thread Starter | What synth and synth sounds are best for actually playing a melody and chords? I own a few synths, some free ones and those that came with Logic or Komplete 5. I guess my synth tastes are pretty simple: I like clean synths that can be used for chords or leads. The problem is, each synth seems to come with 90% of the presets as leads or spooky soundtrack sounding stuff. I'm sick of all the Ice Castle At Dawn sweeping soundscapes, and great tones that turn out to only allow one note at a time... Yes, I get those are important for a lot of purposes, but I wanted to see if there were any free or purchased synths that specialize in being fat, musical, and clean. I've heard even the legendary Omnisphere goes a bit over the top with soundtrack/atmospheric tones... although I still want it. |

Thread Starter | Actually, going into Kore and selecting "classic poly lead" seems to have done the trick, at least for my current fix. If you know of some synths that fit the mold, please post them here! |
