well,

a redish region indicates audio has been stretched too much to sound natural.

i havent seen this before, it could be an indicator of some sort.

if it sounds ok when you play that part of the region, id just ignore it.

Reddish region means you're stretching too far and it might sound bad (artifacts).

Red square is a clip indicator. It means that when stretching the track, the level has gone up and clipped. Best way around this is to gain your track destructively so it's no higher than -3/-4/-5 db then apply elastic audio.

I think the indicators are quite clever and a great idea on Digi's behalf.

OK so I was rite... I guess I always have my waves stretched out larger so it just looked a little weird being bunched up like that...

Technically no. The picture shows clipping, not over stretching.

great!

sorry but i'm a new protools user, how can i do that considering i have the track with elastic audio active, so i can't export and reimport without losing what i've done with elastic audio.

protools has an internal sample editor?

AFAIK, you can't. You to have to use the gain function in Audiosuite to process the file, then apply the EA settings.

Although, maybe tweaking the Elastic Properties might change the gain before applying the stretch settings. This I haven't tried. If it's pre stretch, then you wouldn't have to destructively gain the file.

Try it out. EA properties via right click on the audio region.

You can change the gain on EA files under preferences

Ha... you can too. I never noticed that before.

Time to change that preference.
