Waves alternatives DeEsser RBass

Could anyone compare RenDeesser to the regular Waves deesser?

Anyone using an alternative for Rbass outside waves?

What DAW do you use? I actually like the Pro Tools "digirack" desser over either of the waves ones. Sorry... I know that's not what you asked, but just saying. Also I think there's a Massey desser people like.

The RenDesser is much more tunable as to how narrowly or
widely you want the notch cut to be. I also find the RenDesser
to "let go" with less artifacts. The DeEsser isn't bad, I just
find the Renaissance version to be more controllable and
less noticeable in track.

RBass ... I use that thing all the time .. not aware of a functional
equivalent, although I'm sure there are.

The Massey DeEsser is outstanding. It's far better than any Waves options, and I've tried all of theirs. Very cheap to boot.

Massey is RTAS only.
For VST the freebie Spitfish is pretty good. My favorite de-esser is the Sonalksis CQ-1.

How would you set the Cq-1 for male mezzo tenor vocals?

Can i use the 1970 URS limiter for that? It has the filter.

Hard to say without hearing the audio.
There is a preset in the Sonalksis CQ1 called de-esser which is a good starting point. The CQ1 can be a bit daunting at first, but it's very tweakable to taste.

Yes you can upgrade to RenMaxx + Mus1+2, then Gold + RenMaxx + Mus 1+2.
etc.
Better contact our moderator tony@highprofileaudio.com from

The only alternative for Ren Bass is Ren Bass or a lot of EQing.
(You only need musicians2 or 1 to upgrade)

FabFilter Pro-c

Great side-chain compressor. Works great for deessing too.

I sometimes use URS 1975 for de-essing ,so i guess 1970 should work too

E²Deesser

For crazy control of your deessing I use the E²Deesser by Eiosis, Your Talent Deserves This. You can download a demo to evaluate. They will most likely try to entice you with a discount after the demo expires. My demo expired and a year later I asked for the discount and got it. I used to use the waves ren desser and the uad precission desser but found the E²Deesser to be better (for me).
