When is a Reaktor equivalent for analog outboard emulation coming?

We have the year 2009 and something like that is still not avaible. Many companies already work with emulations of the actual circuit parts/sections (UAD, SPL etc) so it's definately do-able.

Imagine a big set of circuit parts, you could model already existing gear or build something completely new. That would be awesome. For the beginner it can be dumbed down to whole sections, so that no indepth engineering skills are necessary, and for the pro you could leave all options open, just like reaktor.
If the quality is right, Instant buy. thumbsup

While this would rule, I'm really not sure its ever going to happen.
To me its kind of like if you had the knowledge, resources and time to build a massive physical modelling circuitry toolbox, would you really release it as software for 700 or 800 bucks just to have it massively pirated and probly lose money on the deal? I wouldn't waste my resources on such a project. Doing it in hardware unless UAD did it, wouldn't really make much sense interface wise.
To me this is where piracy really hurts us, not so much in having to pay higher prices for existing software, but in software that will simply never get made.

On a side note, I believe matlab's simulink could theoretically do all this, in non real time though.

Not exactly what you are looking for - but close - at a modular level.
